Maiden Rock Village Park Campground

31 foot Winnebago.
Grass park with 12 electric sites and several tent sites right on Lake Pepin; Easy in and out; Sand boat launch and dock. Expect trains every few hours that are pretty loud. Wood can be purchased from gas station within walking distance. Picnic tables provided for each site. 3 or 4 porta pottys provided; no shower house. Pavilion. Town is walking distance with a few shops, 1 full breakfast/pie shop and 2 bars. Self pay box; larger/small town is 6.5 miles further south (Stockholm), highly recommended. Four bars for Verizon, so good wifi coverage. We would camp here again.

Wanted to go for a drive on the Great River Road and saw this off the road. Beautiful view! There’s a beach launch to get on the river. Looks like 10 sites. There’s a honest drop box to pay the nightly fee and a camera on top of the flag pole in the middle of the campground. Make of that as you wish. Not a bad place to car camp. RV’s and trailers could totally make it but no hook ups or bathrooms. Town is close by.

Saturday in June and it is late in the day and all the campgrounds in the area are full. Somebody tell us to try Maiden Rock. There where just a couple of sites taken so we were in luck. 50 amp electrical and portable potties only. Pretty level but of course the railroad nearby. The railroad comes by often but it didn’t bother us. Right on the water and in town. We would stop again.
