Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on July 29, 2022With the rain and the proliferation of mosquitoes, we were wandering around southern Wisconsin without a plan when we stumbled across this county park. 50 sites, many with electric and very reasonably priced ($25 for electric/$18 non which includes a $2 senior discount). Spaces are generous in size although no privacy between them. Bathrooms are very large and clean. Showers but didn’t use so can’t comment on their condition. Dishwashing sink! Adjacent to the Lake Farm SRA and several multi-use trails. Note that it is in the flight path of the airport so you will hear planes.

Nice little campground that was close to Madison and many bike trails. They have 30A electric on some sites. It is self check-in and self-pay sites. Easy to get in and out and to town. Sites are okay (some on the small side) with fire rings and picnic tables but no barriers in between sites. Bit of noise from surrounding highways/traffic. Bathrooms were clean but showers were not so clean and had terrible shower heads.

This is a great campground if you want to spend time near Madison, WI! We went downtown almost every day and never drove longer than 10-15 minutes. If you want to walk or bike instead of drive, the campground sites adjacent to a long system of paved trails that lead all the way downtown.
It is also right down the road (<1 mile) from the most incredible dog park! The 24-acre, completely fenced dog area includes a gravel walking trail, picnic tables, and huge grassy areas for fetch. There is also an area for smaller dogs if yours doesn't like playing with the big dogs. And the daily fee is included in your campsite rental!
A couple caution notes:
1. Our site (#22) was beside the campground hosts, so everyone thought it was okay to walk through the middle of our site to talk to them (instead of, you know, on the road beside our site). If you want a quieter area, I would stick to sites 41-52 or 4-15.
2. The showers are terrible. Not only bad shower heads, but shower stalls are full of bugs. I would avoid using them all together.
Other than those two things, this campground is wonderful and we would stay again!

Great campground. Easy access to fresh water fill. 30 amp and 50 amp hook ups. We stayed one night. Went up to the bathrooms and there was a worker there who was very friendly. Answered any questions I had. Bathrooms are very clean. We stayed on site 28. Was relatively level not perfect though. Dumping was easy with a black water flush hose right there.

The location of this campground is great for its proximity to Madison and an infinite number of bike trails that run right in front of it.
The campground itself is pretty well kept and peaceful and only offers electric hook up, but we noticed that the rules didn't seem to apply to everyone as there are a few locals that enter empty sites without paying, occupying reserved spots and when the legitimate patrons show up, they scramble in a hurry.
This is a great place if you have a big self sufficient rig with big tanks that allow you to shower inside.
If, on the other hand, you have a small rig with smaller tanks and have to rely on the bath house for showers, you might be in for a shock! The shower facilities here are amongst the most disgusting we have seen in our yrs of travel! Nobody really cleans them and the dingy yellow panel walls are covered in brown scum! Same goes for the shower panel. It made us cringe just to step in there but couldn't avoid it. We were disgusted and it made for a very depressing shower.
We are appalled as paying customers to be subjected to such neglect and filth! What is the excuse for it?? No excuse can be good enough.

Proximity is nice and if you’re in one of the RV sites further away from the tent sites, it’s better. When I first arrived I was in site 23, there was a big group of meth head looking folks that kept driving in and out of the site and running their car for hours and being loud and obnoxious. Camp host didn’t do anything. I moved to site 14, which is close to the road but still more peaceful than 23...
Showers are pretty gross. Couldn’t bring myself to use one. Going to stay at a hotel tonight to get a clean shower. WiFi is spotty but works sometimes, otherwise decent reception with Verizon and AT&T for hot spot.

Nice park in a nice area with lots to do. Tent sites and bathroom currently closed. Advance registration online required 5 days before and that reservation fee makes it expensive for just electric sites. Most sites are pull through. It rained and we couldn’t access the dump site. Quiet at night except the dumpsters were emptied at 3 am and during the day there is a lot of air traffic. Wifi was pretty decent, some buffering. Make sure you enter by the heritage site.

This is our second stay here, and I love this campground. Camp host is always friendly, sites are nice, quiet and well maintained. Bath house is clean and the private shower rooms are great. Some road and airplane traffic but the views cannot be beat and access to Madison is great. This is a park of choice when we come back to the Madison area.
Wifi is available and works reasonably well.

Self check-in. Stopped at the first water spigot we saw and filled our tank. Long gravel parking pads. Most are back-in sites and level. The bike trails that you access right here are great! Just a few miles to Madison with lots to do! Bath/Shower building is very new and cleaned/ sanitized daily. Definitely a place we will return to, next time we travel this way.

This is a county park with state-park type amenities. Not a lot of privacy because neighbors are pretty close, but it was quiet for a good night's sleep.
Paved roads, gravel sites, nice and level overall. Bathroom facilities appear new and are well-maintained. They also have a dish-washing station and high-pressure air hose available.
Sites have 50/30/20 amps. No water on sites but spigots located throughout the park. Dump station right at the entrance but there's plenty of room to maneuver around there. Could get congested if busy.
Some sites are quite large; saw plenty of bigger rigs here. Site 17 is a smaller one but worked great for our Class B. All sites have an aluminum picnic table and a fire ring.
Cell service was decent for T-Mobile and Verizon.
The campground is adjacent to a large multi-use trail system, which would be great if you were here for a few days. One path even takes you downtown in just 4 miles.
Price is a bit high due to $10 registration fee on top of $28 site fee. But would stay here again for an overnight or two if in the area.
