Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on August 14, 2022Lovely time with incredible weather. Nice camper store with some supplies. You enter through a security gate activated by a card supplied by the campground. A clean pool (although we didn't use) is on the left, a new activity building on the right with snap off canvas sides. Sunday Father's Day breakfast free for father's $4 for others was a made to order omelet, juice, and coffee.
Campground has two 'safari fields' one larger than the other--both with electric and water, with sites around the perimeter with E/W/S. As you continue along the road there are many shaded sites under old oak tress--lovely and a good size for a private campground--most appeared to be very well maintained seasonal sites.
The wood was dropped off right to our fire, and on Saturday night, pizza was delivered to the gate. Very clean bathrooms, a 25 cents will get you a 9 minute shower. Pets allowed. Dump station free for sites without sewer.
Would definitely return again.

We chose this campground because we wanted full hookups for our first outing with our new-to-us Airstream. Owners were very friendly and helpful. They even stopped by our site to make sure we got in ok. It's a big place in the woods. Sites are big. You can see your neighbors, but you aren't on top of each other. We arrived on a Tuesday, left on a Thursday. There are tons of seasonal campers here, but I guess they mostly come on the weekends, so we felt we had the place almost to ourselves. In the height of summer (when school is out) I can imagine this place could feel crowded. Overall, we had a good experience here.

Stopped here for one night on our way back to CT from ME. What a nice family campground. Very well taken care of, beautiful swimming pool, lovely facilities and sites both in a field and in the woods. Lots of seasonal campers who have decorated their sites with care. Would come back to stay again for a longer period of time.

The majority of the campground is dedicated to seasonal lot owners. The area for transients is large and mostly away from the seasonal lots making it a quiet location. The sites are well spaced and somewhat level. The pads are a ix of grass and hard packed gravel. The sites are a combination of electric and water or F/U. The seem to all be 30amp. F/H sewage connection is a bizarre two connection affair. The instructions are: "For the duration of your stay, connect to the gray water pipe and leave the gray valve open so water 'trickles' into the pipe. If you dump it will backup and flow out onto the ground. When ready to dump your black tanks, transfer the connection to the black sewage pipe and do your dump." The gray is leached into the ground, whereas the black gets dumped into a buried 55 gallon plastic drum. If the campground doesn't pump it out after the previous guests leave then you're liable to fill it up requiring a visit to the office to request pump out. Ask me how I know that... Despite that, this is still a nice campground. The town of Wales has nothing to offer other than a lakeside tavern 2 minutes away featuring an great menu and good beer choices. Old Sturbridge Village is 15 minutes away. My T-Mobile 5G hotspot averaged 30-50mbps down, so quite adequate. The campground has WiFi but I didn't use it. The laundry has three each washers and dryers at $2.00 each.

If you like quiet and not having people on top of you, this campground is an excellent choice. I have a 33’ fifth wheel and had absolutely no problem negotiating the campground roads and backing into our site. The campsites are plenty big and very clean. Staff are super nice and very helpful. We definitely will be back next year.
