The Battle of Bunker Hill Museum is located on the Freedom Trail, across the street from the Monument. Completed in June, 2007, the museum houses all new exhibits on the Battle of Bunker Hill, the building of the Monument and the history of Charlestown.
The Battle of Bunker Hill on June 17, 1775, was the first major battle of the Revolutionary War and predicted the character and outcome of the rest of the war. It took a force of 2,200 Redcoats three assaults to dislodge the Colonial Militia from a hastily constructed redoubt atop Breed's Hill in Charlestown.
