The campground is open from Friday, May 2nd until December 1st
Don't be fooled by the pictures and older reviews, this place is in very poor shape! I wish I had remembered to take photos, it's a dump! I'm so glad we decided to drive by before booking online. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon after the office had closed thinking we could at least do a late check-in, or if nothing else take an empty site and pay in the morning. Since there were no late check-in procedures posted, and since we were not thrilled with the quality at all, we temporarily pulled into the two open sites by the office so we could discuss our options (stay or leave). A gentleman came out of the house next to the office asking if we needed help (so far, so good). We explained we were just checking out the campground and deciding if we wanted to stay for the night. He then gruffly informed us we had taken up two sites, so I tried to explain we had just pulled in temporarily to finalize our plans (there was not another soul around, much less someone else waiting on the sites). He said the office was closed and we could check back in the morning. When I asked about using their internet so I could pay online if we decided to stay, he said he could only give out the password to someone that had already paid. I asked if he'd give us the password if we decided to stay and pay in the morning and he said that wasn't an option. They would not allow after hours arrivals that had not paid. I guess he didn't want the easy $60. Needless to say, we DO NOT recommend this campground. It's very unfortunate, with a little TLC and some friendly staff, this could be a great campground!
