“take a trek to the Appalachian Trail”
This Trail begins with a moderate hike along Belfast Creek. Read the trail signs at the beginning of the trail for two very different renditions of the Devil's Marbleyard. The trail arrives at the bottom of the Marble Yard after only one mile. The trail continues another 2 miles to the Appalachian Trail, but you can choose one of two routes, the Belfast Trail along the right side of the boulder field or up the boulderfield itself.
Devil's Marbleyard is very fun climb! It's a 2 mile hike to make it to the actual Marbleyard, but you forget all about that once you start climbing the rock face. Try to the find the cave! But be warned: I've run into snakes and bears at this site!
The MapQuest coordinates did not bring us to the spot. They took us to the visitor center in Lexington which ended up providing a great day. But it still wasn't the devils marble yard :-)
