First of all it is by the railroad track. I have 2 boys age 9 and 11. They were thrilled about the trains coming by, I on the other hand, did not enjoy it as much. Bathrooms and showers have been updated recently and are really quite nice compared to when I stayed 5 years ago there a lot of mature trees and it is right on the river. The boys loved getting up and going fishing first thing in the morning. Thankfully they did not catch much... the park was nice, the management host was nice. I did not have any problems with the safety concerns that I would have at some parks because the police came through at least 4 or 5 times every day just checking on things. From there we are going to Weston Bend Park. We were camping in a motorhome and also a tent outside for the boys. we will be back. The one thing that I do want to say is you need to check in early because it is first come first serve on sight spaces

Called same day on a Tuesday to reserve a spot. I was spending the day nearby and couldn’t get to the campground until after host was out. When I called he gave me a gate code and I paid in the morning. 30a Electric, but used on-board water. Accessible dump station with non-potable water.
There is a train which runs frequently nearby which may be an issue if you are a light sleeper or have dogs who don’t like trains. We had our dogs and they didn’t mind.
Right next to the Missouri River.

We planned on staying here one night but ended up staying three due to snowy weather in late October. We were the only ones there. We agree with what the other reviewer‘s have noted. The entrance across the RR tracks can be tricky for a longer rig. Longer rigs could get high centered or drag coming over the tracks. We have a 26 foot trailer and had no problems. Some of the electrical boxes serve two sites so plan on having an extension cord. This is a gated campground and we liked that. There are frequent trains to this area day and night. After the first night we slept through them.We will definitely stay here again.

Only reason I gave this 4 stars is for the railroad tracks you have to cross are quite intense. It’s a dramatic drop and immediate left turn to get to the campground. I’m glad I called ahead. Other than that, the area is nice, the train is quick to go by, but the river is beautiful. The bathrooms are okay. It’s cash only and bring an extra $20 for a bathroom key (refundable upon return of key)

The campsite manager is incredible. I had called in advance to see if I would be able to rent a site at 3 am. The manager was very accommodating and made us feel welcome. The view of the river was so pretty as well!
