Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on July 22, 2020A nice small city campground that is expanding. Creek on one side and a pond for swimming and fishing on the other. We had an electric site in the grass. Most of the sites had concrete pads and shade. Our kids loved swimming and being in town to check things out. The bathrooms and showers are brand new and were incredibly clean and nice.

Very basic amenities. Sites are very close together. Depending on the humidity and wind you can tell that there are hog confinement facilities nearby. Quite close to railroad tracks so there was significant train noise. Hosts are very welcoming and helpful. Very convenient to recreational trail. 30 new sites with full hook ups are being added. The new sites are partially completed to be available for the county fair starting the week after our visit. Existing sites have cement pads and ours was very level. In the original areas there is one water hydrant and one electrical post for every two sites. They are to the left of the even numbered sites and the right of odd numbered sites if unit is backed in. Wells Blue Bunny Ice Cream Parlor within walking distance (10 blocks) and worth the walk.

We actually camped there Memorial Day weekend. You have to have reservations and made well in advance. The place fills up with locals. We camped in the newer, lower area that had no shade but backed up to the beach. It also has full hookups for $30. The older area had great shade trees but only have water and electric for $25. The sites are clean and level with a table and fire pit. The beach and pond are kept clean. People were fishing, swimming, canoeing and kayaking. The pond and beach is open to the public.
