“cheap Hamms on tap, a jukebox full of the latest indie bands, & no cover charge!”
With cheap Hamms on tap, a jukebox stocked with the latest indie bands and no cover charge, it’s no surprise The Griffin is known as a magnet for hipsters. But don’t let that stop you from checking out this Fremont East bar. Its great ambiance, low lighting and comfy booths give this place an old Vegas feel without having to try too hard.
Whether you grab a stool at the bar or cozy up next to one of two circular fire pits, The Griffin has a relaxed vibe, friendly bartenders and a great selection of beers and booze.
One of the first bars to open on East Fremont Street, Griffin looks like something out of a Transylvanian castle. There are big cylindrical fireplaces beneath high brick archways, almost only lit by candles, with a bar as long as the room itself. On the weekends, it's almost always shoulder-to-shoulder in the front, and double that in the back, where DJs spin heart-palpitating dance music. The drinks don't get fancy here. Order a whiskey and a beer back and go grab a booth.
