“Attractions & Culture in Las Vegas, NV”
The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime & Law Enforcement, opened on February14th, 2012 in downtown Las Vegas. We have been named "Best Museum" in Nevada Magazine's Best of 2012 Readers' Survey.
My girlfriend and I took a trip to Las Vegas in December 2015; when she was planning the trip she asked what was something I really wanted to do or see and I immediately said the Mob Museum. Growing up raised on classic films such as The Godfather and Goodfellas and having watched The Sopranos through its entire run, I always fancied myself a mob aficionado. I was metaphorically blown away by how detailed and in depth the museum went into the history of the "underworld." Highlights include the restored courtroom and the history of the Mob's influence on the founding and forming of Las Vegas. If you go to Sin City, make it a point to spend a few hours away from the Strip and visit the Mob Museum.
Best place to visit to learn about the history of the mob
Make sure you allot plenty of time for this place. Rich in history and so much to see! Very very interesting place!
Best museum ever! Updates and you can get discounts if you are a local!
This place was crazy. There’s an interactive room where you can see all about modern day rackets and organized crime. It’s 3 stories and has a neat little gift shop. The visit took maybe an hour and a half and I still didn’t see it all.
We had the best time here. My husband really loves the stories of the old Mobs and Gangsters so this stop was a must. They did a great job with social distancing. We added on the Crime Lab and Moonshine Tasting to our regular tour. The Crime lab was very fun and informative. We solved all our murders. Our favorite part was the Speakeasy and Tasting. We sat at the bar in the Speakeasy to have a drink and I ordered an Old Fashion. The bartender handed me an empty glass and a book telling me I had to do some light reading. Upon opening the book I found my drink hidden inside in a flask. Such a creative way to show you how things were during the prohibition. The tasting was fun and we became fast friends with the teacher. You should absolutely go and add the tours!
Very nice museum so much information it took us all day to see everything. Well worth it.
