If you're looking for a Vegas resort with a prime location at the center of the Strip and very affordable prices, a good place to keep at the top of your mind is The Quad Resort & Casino.

Much of The Quad's interior and exterior have been refurbished. Among the new elements are a renovated porte cochere, casino floor and Catalyst Bar. The Quad is also connected to The LINQ, an outdoor entertainment, shopping and dining district that houses the High Roller observation wheel. O'Sheas Casino has debuted as well -- with three bars, 11 table games, 15 video poker machines and six beer pong tables.

Caesars Entertainment has announced that The Quad will be rebranded as The LINQ Hotel & Casino on Oct. 30, 2014. As part of a $223 million renovation project, the property's 2,256 rooms and suites will be remodeled to feature contemporary decor elements as well as pillow-top mattresses, 47-inch flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations with speakers and rain shower heads. In addition, a new pool area (featuring both a standard hotel pool and a dayclub experience), a new lobby bar, a new spa and fitness center, and the new Vortex Roof Deck, are under construction and will debut in spring 2015.

The Quad is an always-bustling, mid-sized property situated within walking distance from several of the city's most famous resorts -- includingCaesars PalaceThe MirageFlamingoBally's and Harrah's.

The Quad also boasts a Las Vegas Monorail stop, which means you'll have easy access to most of the hotels up and down South Las Vegas Boulevard.

Catering to visitors of all ages and from all walks of life, The Quad is not a stuffy, elite-style resort.

The amenities are spread throughout several floors. The ground floor houses the action-packed casino. In addition to traditional table games and slots, you'll find a state-of-the-art race and sports book and a five-table poker room. The casino tends to be crowded around the clock.

The place to drink at the resort is Fat Tuesday, where you can order a variety of frozen daiquiris, perfect to cool you down during the hot summer months. Beers and cocktails of all kinds are available in the casino at the Catalyst Bar. TAG Lounge & Bar also offers more than 300 bottled, can and large-format brews from the U.S. and around the world -- you can even serve yourself at pour-your-own-draft tables.

Take the escalator to the second floor and you'll discover additional entertainment options. Jeff Civillico does comedy juggling and other stunts in the afternoon. You can also see the drag extravaganza "Divas Las Vegas" starring Frank Marino in the evening. Or Recycled Percussion, a group that pounds away on everything from buckets and trash cans to ladders and power tools, also perform in a rock 'n' roll-oriented production in the evening.

If history is more your thing, check out The Auto Collections. More than 250 classic or historically significant vehicles are being displayed on the fifth floor of the hotel's self-parking garage -- some of which are for sale.

The Quad is home to several great dining options. Chef Guy Fieri, of Food Network's top-rated show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," has opened his first Las Vegas restaurant -- called Guy Fieri's Kitchen & Bar -- at the north entrance of the resort. South-of-the-border cuisine along with an array of margaritas and a mechanical bull are offered at Chayo Mexican Kitchen + Tequila Bar at the south end of the property. The Quad also boasts has a Hash House A Go Go. The chain restaurant is known for its delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner comfort foods -- which come in oversized portions.
