Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on April 04, 2021We were looking for a place with full hookups in Early April so we were pretty excited to find Backyard Campground, and then we pulled in.
There are a few good things, that’s why I gave it 2 stars. The first night you stay is free. Full hookups for $40. The family was very nice and helpful. They welcomed us and said, “when you stay with us, you become part of the family.” They even said to call if we have any issues on the bike trail and they would come and get us. WiFi was also goo, and necessary, there really isn’t Verizon cell service .
If you are enjoy ATVing this may also be a great place for you to stay. We are not... it is close to the Sugar River Recreation Trail and all roads are designated ATV trails in the area.
So why only 2 stars? I had messaged ahead to ask about Verizon and WiFi, I was told it was fine. We were supposed to call upon arriving however, we had no cell service. To get to the office, I had to walk through a bunch of junk.
This is a working farm with pigs and cows so beware of the smell. The campground is in a field with a lot of season sites that are allowed to be left junky. The playground is dilapidated, as is the mini golf course, and the game room is full of more stuff.
I think the biggest turn off was when we noticed the leftover campaign signs that, regardless of your political affiliation, were inappropriate.
