“remaining true to the family atmosphere”
At Kitty Hawk RV Park, we pride ourselves on our family friendly atmosphere, extremely affordable full accommodations, and ideal location. The RV Park has been here since the 1960's, and although the Outer Banks has changed a lot since then, we have remained true to the family atmosphere that makes coming to the Outer Banks such a wonderful dynamic family vacation location.

There is hardly any room to sit outside of your site without sitting under your neighbor's slide. At least it was cold when we were there and didn't spend a lot of time outside anyway. The majority of the park looks like fulltime residents, with only a few campsites available for others. The location is great for visiting the Kitty Hawk area, I just wish they would give you some more room at the campsites. Verizon and AT&T worked well.

Our site was 22' wide and there are short fences between each site. About 2-3 ft of that is taken up with hook-ups. Our rig has no slides, but the motor home in Site 1 had their slides out and they came just to their side of the fence. Our truck & trailer combination is less than 30' and we had plenty of room. Sites are fairly level. This is a beach location so prepare for sand. Location is prime for ocean proximity (we could hear the waves crashing on the beach). Site managers were excellent. There are no facilities, so you need to be self-contained. Did have trouble getting a callback, so we just showed up and got lucky, Yea!, but could only stay one nite.

I agree with others the sites are very cramped. Our awning would have touched the next neighbors slide. No space at all. However, 1 minute walk over the dune and your in the water. Beautiful beach. Not crowded. The host was nice. He Asked for cash only. Mostly full timers here.

It’s a small campground. We called the office when we arrived and they escorted us to our site. We have a 39’ toy hauler and we were able to open our patio. They are narrow sites but our site, #31, was deep. Best part was the beach. So close we could get our whole family up early for sunrise and could go out at night to hunt ghost crabs. The beach felt private as well, very few people around. Great spot! Mid to late October was a great time to be there too.
