“unplug from day to day life”
We believe vacations are opportunities for folks to unplug from day to day life, to strengthen relationships & to create memories that will last a lifetime. It is because of that belief that we strive to make Spokane Creek Cabins & Campground the ideal place to escape & enjoy time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday responsibilities. A place where there are no TVs and limited cell service. A place where there is plenty of open space to play & run, a place to hike & swim, a place to relax & enjoy time with nature and with each other. Spokane Creek sits in a valley on 24 picturesque acres just 7 miles south of Keystone. We are located on the spectacular, historic Iron Mountain Road between Custer State Park and Mount Rushmore National Memorial, making us an ideal location to enjoy the wonders of the Black Hills. Spokane Creek offers a wide variety of accommodation options to meet everyone’s budget and needs, from creek side tent sites (with or without water & electricity) to level, grassy RV sites (full or partial hookup) to cabins featuring multiple levels of comfort, size and convenience. Spend your day at the campground relaxing and enjoying our many amenities or take off on one of countless Black Hills adventures. At night, relax and enjoy the babbling creek and big sky loaded with stars, roast marshmallows by a campfire, or attend one of several night shows in the area. You and your family will not run short of fabulous vacation experiences. Every day can be its own adventure. From outdoor activities to historical exploration to animal adventures, there are plenty of opportunities to create family memories that will last a lifetime.
l forgot to mention the national forest limits the firepits and bbq grills for sites along the trees....a major issue to us who like a fire at night we had to buy a small grill to cook on. We made friends with campers across the street to use their firepit.....not a great choice but we did what was necessary!
Nice place with creek running thru center and National forest along back. Bathrooms and laundry are adequate but nothing special. Pool is small not heated and mini golf is really mini. Location is nit optimal if you plan to go places around the area - Iron mt rd is a bear and there is NO cell service in the campground at all. Their wifi was spotty at best especially as the place filled up for the holiday. I would suggest a campground closer to Custer where you have shops and easier access to the other areas to visit. And its pricey - they charged us for a second tent on the site as if we had another site booked instead of a per person fee. It was eventually rectified but it was still too much for a guest to pay when we paid so much already IMO. We had to drive out to make phone calls on a daily basis even with verizon there was nothing...sprint might as well forget it untill you get into Custer.
We loved this campground. A great location to check out Mount Rushmore, Wind Cave National Park, Black Hills National Forest, and so much more. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The American Flag hiking trail in the campground was perfect for our family and our kids loved it! Make sure to call before you arrive for the best directions on how to get here. Google maps may take you down roads that are unfit for a camper. We called the front desk when we were about 30 mins out and they directed us no problem!
This park is in an awful spot if you are towing or driving an RV. Though we followed the directions given to us in their emails, they are still not very good for anything of size. Once we got there it seemed fine, but I didn't want to have to deal with those roads every time we wanted to go somewhere, so we left and found another place to camp.
I loved this campsite. We stayed here for 2 nights in june 2015. the people who work there are so nice and made you feel like you were wanted. Our tent flooded our first night so it was really fortunate for us that they have full laundry and a shower. We didn't use the pool or the mini golf but we took full opportunity of the café they had there.
