The location is amazing. Can walk to all the downtown areas. Everyone is parked right next to each other and the park itself doesn’t have much to do but that’s not why we came here. If your looking for stuff for the kids on site head to the KOA a few miles down the road but we had an RV with no car in tow so walking was important. You still have to drive to Mt. Rushmore but this was a nice clean park.
Interesting layout of sites. Big rigs ok but only to some of the sites which would take some maneuvering.

This site is close to town and within walking distance to a nice strip of shops and restaurants, you can see Rushmore from the site as well.

Spot 16 is not full hook up and yet we were charged as full when didn’t have electric. Sewer hook up was dangerously near to the potable water hook up (Maybe only 5-6 inches apart). Location is ok and is the closest RV parking to Mt. Rushmore. Easy walk to many restaurants, hotels and shops. This RV park is part of a large hotel and we paid at least the hotel reception but weirdly enough they don’t take credit cards for RV parking. Why??

We received a welcome email with a map to our site and a link to register online. Full hookups, which came in handy as we were low on fresh water, included in price. Talked twice to staff on phone and they couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The site is not picturesque but go to a national park for beauty. Would stay here again when we come back to the area.

At first, we were very disappointed. Campground is behind a motel and our site was VERY tight. Took us a couple of tries to squeeze our 28 ft. RV in the spot. Eventually had to turn it around and drag power, etc. under the rig to hook up. The spots for bigger RVs looked roomier. Not a lot to look at from the site. You can see Mt. Rushmore from the parking lot. Okay, here are the pluses: easy walk to a breakfast place, laundromat, all downtown shops, attractions and restaurants, zero road noise and a very short drive to Mt. Rushmore. The place kind of grew on us honestly. I would recommend it if you want to enjoy the town, attractions, etc. and not spend a lot of time at your site.
Plus: - took a same day reservation.
- they have a work camper program
- 2+ miles to Mt Rushmore
Minus: - closed bathrooms/ bathhouses
- very tight spaces - only a picnic table separates the sites from each other.
- creek embankment is steep and located at my rear bumper.
- my water spigot is located on driver’s side within the neighbor’s sitting area
- the elec pole is on the curb side and shared with the neighbor on that side.
I backed in and realized I could not reach the elec on the back of my rig without sliding down the embankment; pulled fwd til my front bumper was into the “street” to be able to walk behind it. The map shows this site is 30’;
my rig is 24’

The ladies at the front were very nice although they are part of the camper workers program so are only there for a few months a time. Besides that, the spots are very tight together and the hook ups are both positioned conveniently. Electric was al the way on the other side of my rig and same with the dump station. The water was right in the middle, however, it spelled like a mix between sulfur and sewage. Fortunately there was another spigot on the other side that my neighbor wasn’t using and had water that was actually potable. Besides the location the Mt Rushmore and downtown Keystone, this place did not have many redeeming qualities.
