No water but they do have a pit toilet (bring TP) looks nice from outside but toilet set for men in bad shape. For a small park they do offer a lot swimming, fishing play ground, horseshoe pit and picnic shelter. They have two electric sites but have to reserve them with the city and get a key from them $5 a day 5 day limit.

Pit toilets, no facilities but a beautiful view. I guess there is electric if you call ahead but we didn't need it. Definitely worth the mile drive to get here on a dirt road. Pick your spot on the grass. Lake is nice. Only one other person here. Beautiful solitude.

Byre Lake Recreational Area. Free and tidy small lake recreation area just off of I-90. We camped here for one night in our van. The road around the lake is gravel and well maintained. Large grassy areas to camp and let the dogs roam. Several fire rings. We didn’t need to use restrooms as we have one in our van but the recreation area in general was clean and tidy. There are signs to contact the city “finance officer” if you want to pay to unlock the electric boxes. We have solar, didn’t have to use hookups. We were the only ones here except for a nice local man doing his morning walk. It was rainy so it was such a win to have grass everywhere instead of mud, especially with dogs. Would definitely stay here again for a quick night off the interstate. We like to avoid noisy rest stops.

It rained the day before we got here, the road to the park entrance is 1.25 miles off the asphalt, that road was muddy but passable. The park road the the sites was very rutted, if you are low or not four wheel check it out first after the rain. Only one other van camper that came in, and a local fishing (very nice guy) we picked up the garbage and left it cleaner, no trash receptacles! Great for fetch and doggie swimming. Would definitely come back!!

Nice lake with beach. Clean, easy to find, free, and electric is available - just need to call. Great place to spend the night. Many places to camp on large grass field right on the lake. Restrooms were closed due to COVID-2. 2 miles north of I-90 then right on 239th street for a mile on a packed gravel road. Signs to the lake are small. Spent the night motorcycle camping. Just a few campers on a Friday in June.

We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and there were about 8 campers at the lake. It is heavily used by the locals and they were all very nice. We used the vault toilets and almost passed out from the ammonia smell. I would recommend this lake more if the local community would take better care of the gem they have. Lots of cigarette butts and broken beer bottles around the campfire pits.

I made a video to share what it looks like in October - kinda chilly :)
Decent fishing opportunities - I think a good number of people go hunting here as well. The camping site is basically a large field that has a power box. You have to call ahead to reserve the power box and get a key.

Mpls to Black hills. Drove 8 hours and found this gem. City Park on a small prairie lake 4 miles from I 90. Drove in. I thought I would need a key, but then look to my left and saw to my sheer delight, six beautiful electrified sights that were unoccupied. In order for the electricity you will need a key from the city administrator, which I did not have, but did not need since I was here for one night on a stopover. Although I would come back and stay for a couple days, before I went off on a big trip just to organize and get mine set. I'm a 26ft with more than enough room to accommodate others bigger than me.

This place? JUST GO. It was so perfect for my car camping trip and there were 40ft rigs there too with no issues.
It’s a beautiful lake in the middle of no where with no Highway or road noise but only 4 miles away from the Highway.
Bathrooms were stocked with TP & Hand sanitizer too!

Come here. Don't bother with anywhere else. Swimming, trash, bathrooms, and electric!!!! Free!!! Its clean, empty mostly (3 of us here on Monday 6/14/21). Winds are a constant 13 mph so even at 90 it feels great. Wind off the water is lovely. You'll never regret coming here. Dog friendly too.
