THE NORTH CAROLINA MUSIC HALL OF FAME, INC. was founded in North Carolina on May26, 1994 in Thomasville, North Carolina. The primary purpose of the Hall of Fame is to recognize, promote and commemorate the musical heritage of the State of North Carolina. Located in the beautifully renovated Old Kannapolis Jailhouse, the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame recognizes, honors, preserves, and promotes those from the “Old North State” who have made great contributions to American music. Exhibits showcase musicians, singers, songwriters, and producers from all genres of music with roots in North Carolina. The NC Music Hall of Fame is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization. Admission is free but donations for support of the Museum are welcomed and greatly appreciated. Hours are Monday thru Friday 10AM – 4PM. The museum is available during normal business hours AND after hours and weekends for private tours, groups, and schools by appointment.
