Awesome area. I did a 3 hour (one way) hike here to the ice caves a couple days before finding out they had melted and caved in. Got to stand on top of the glacier and saw ice climbers with all kinds of gear about to head down inside the crevasses.

If visiting during the winter, know that the visitor center's hours run from 10am to 4pm in October through March, and that the center is closed during April.
