We stayed here twice: pulled in on a Sunday, pulled out the next morning to get our windows fixed at the RV Fog Dr. a few miles away, and returned on Tuesday to finish out the week. We stayed in site 58 the first night and site 56 during our second stay.
The campground is just off US highway 64 (which is in the process of being turned into an interstate): it’s not right next to the highway but you can see it and hear it. The campground surface is all gravel (no grass), but there are plenty of tall trees to provide shade. The vast majority of the sites are back-in sites occupied by long-term / full-time residents. The few pull-through sites are for folks passing through like us and are near the entrance of the campground, and all of them are set up as buddy sites (where two RVs share the same power pole and water). Both sites we stayed in were not level side-to-side, but it wasn’t anything that couldn’t be mitigated with boards or blocks.
The office and the laundry room (both single-room buildings) are near the entrance. Across from them is the recreation area: a concrete pad with a single regulation height basketball hoop, a small playground area, and a pavilion covering a few picnic tables. There are no picnic tables or campground-provided fire rings at any site. And there are no bathrooms, so you need to bring your own.
The check-in experience varies. Both times we checked in we had to call the office number and ask which site to take, but we saw other campers pull in to sites marked with their name on a traffic cone at the site. To be fair, the campground didn't ask for a credit card when they took our online reservation, so they might not have been sure we’d show up. And I appreciated the fact that the office was open at 7am so we could pay for that first night in time to make our 8am appointment at RV Fog Dr.
There’s a grassy, slightly muddy field between the campground and the adjoining road you can use to walk dogs. Unfortunately not a lot of folks pick up after their dogs, so you have to watch your step. And watch for any dogs running off-leash.
In terms of cell service, the best speeds I got on my Verizon Jetpack with MIMO antenna during our stay were 160Mbps down and 55Mbps up, but there were a handful of (fairly brief) times where the network was so congested I couldn’t do anything. The one speed test I performed on my AT&T phone showed 133Mbps down and 27Mbps up. So when the network isn’t congested there’s plenty of bandwidth to work or stream video.
We’d stay here again for a night if we were passing through.
