Johnson Woolen Mills & Factory

Johnson Woolen Mills is a 161 year old manufacturer of fine woolen outerwear and accessories for men, women, children and big & tall. All clothing is 100% designed and handmade at our factory in Johnson, VT. In addition, we have a factory store next door which is an extremely popular Vermont attraction. The JOHNSON tradition reaches back more than 160 years to a time when local farmers brought their wool here to have it woven into cloth. In the late 19th century, we began making heavy woolen trousers, well suited to the climate of Vermont and the rest of New England. In the early 20th century, we added shirts, jackets and vests to our line of ready-made clothing. Today our factory is still at the same location on the banks of the Gihon River. Throughout our many years in business, the name "Johnson Woolen Mills" has always been a symbol for quality. Seldom has that been more valuable than today when we are continually searching for ways to preserve our natural resources, car pooling and lowering our thermostats and still looking for ways to keep warm. One of these alternatives is wool, with all its unique qualities. The rediscovery of the outdoors in all four seasons also plays a part.  If you are an old customer, (some people have visited our store every year for the past 30 years or more), you'll appreciate our expanded selection and new products.
