Stone State Park is located in the scenic Loess Hills of western Iowa on the Loess Hills National Scenic Byway. The park offers a variety of outdoor activities including many trails for hiking, fishing in the Big Sioux River or on the shores of the 2-acre Turtle lake, camping, and wildlife viewing. The Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center is also located in the southwest corner of the park.
