Chipped concrete, dirty showers, 2 showers, bench missing in one and broken in the other. No shower curtains. The high point was lots of hot water. So wear your flip flops and don't touch anything! If I could rate lower than 1, it would be done.
Please note you are camping right on the flight path for Pittsburg airport so you'll hear the air traffic.

There are things we liked about this campground and things we didn't. We completely agree that the previous review of the bath house was our experience with grossness. The only thing we could add is that the bath house was poorly lighted in addition to being gross.
We also had the experience of the planes as you are on the path to the Pittsburgh airport (but in a very rural setting. You do not feel like you are near the city.)
Our site was small in terms of space to set up our 18 ft camper. Then the "yard" area was spread out with our fire pit almost in the neighbors site. It was strangely laid out. Sites were large, but lack privacy with no vegetation between them.
The things we liked.... on site firewood sales, rural setting, and clean trails. Things we would like to return to spend more time... the lake, kayak rental, and swimming area.
ReserveAmerica and/or the PA State park system required a 2 night reservation. We had hoped to stay 2 nights, but our scheduled ended up not allowing us to.
We had 1-2 bars 3g on Verizon. I could text, but could not load social media.

Raccoon State Park is a nice park about 45 minutes outside of Pittsburgh. We were here to visit Pittsburgh, so the unfortunate part was that we were so far away and there is no easy way into the city. Expect 45 - 60 minutes to get to the city. This park is really in the middle of nowhere - there is nothing nearby. You will need to travel about 25 minutes to get to a good grocery store. So be prepared if you are here to visit the city.
The park has some steep hills to get to the campground, but we were able to manage them in our 39 foot fifth wheel.
Our site was large enough for our fifth wheel and level enough.
The park is very quiet, although it is on the flight path of the airport, so you do get planes flying over head throughout the day and into the night.
We did not have to use any of the facilities so I cannot comment on the bathhouses.
Verizon coverage was good and usable - which is always a nice plus when you are in a state park.
We were here at the end of the season, so it was very quiet and not very crowded.

We were in the area to visit Pittsburgh and this was the closest park we could find. It takes around 45 mins to get into the city and there isn't much around the park, so be sure to have whatever you need before you get there. No stores or restaurants nearby.
This is a huge, beautiful well-maintained park. Tons of campsites, hiking trails, lake with boat rentals. Electric only sites, but very clean and well-spaced sites.
Note: Only sites in loops C and F allow pets!!! We almost made a reservation in another loop before catching this.

The first night was a Sunday and the fee was $33. The second night we stayed was a Friday and that was $39. Just wanted to clarify. Both were modern electric sites.
Water nearby but we weren't there long enough to partake, but it looked quite inviting with all the kayaks, canoes and paddleboards on the water. No issues getting our 19" camper into either of the sites we reserved.
Sorry I don't have a lot to say about the park as we mostly used it to pass on through to our actual destination.

This is a large state park offering electric only sites (no water/electric or full hookup sites)
The sites are set amounts the forest and there are several loops to choose from. Loop F is pet friendly. All sites are within walking distance to amenities
Amenities are quite run down but functional
Wildlife is beautiful and its a short ~10min drive to the beach area of Raccoon Creek lake.
Two (2) dump station spots and fresh water taps location throughout the park
NOTE: Many sites are not level, you will require blocks/timber to level out campers. Tent campers should choose their site using the photos on the state park site.
All sites have a paved car space.

The campground was adequate with average sites, nicely wooded and lots of deer walking around. BUT the condition of the ladies room in the A loop was so bad that I would not return to the campground. I can deal with the metal toilets and peeling paint but they were filthy and only got worse as the weekend went on. The worst part was that someone did show up to clean on Saturday but must have decided to skip it since there was someone in there. It was just awful. If you have your own bathroom in your camper then it’s a great place.

Evidently, this park is situated right below an arriving flights airway. Unfortunately ately, we had to pause conversations while planes flew overhead.
Aside from the noise, the sites were very spacious and wooded. The diversity of trees and birds really enhance the experience.
We held a group camping event here and found it to be great for that setting.
The cell phone reception here is not that great and if you need to take calls or video calls, this is not a great place, even with a booster.

C loop doesn’t have electric, which is fine with out style of camping. Site was good. Bathrooms I give a C+, one I’d the reasons I’m giving 4-stars. (Also not all the park is dog friendly, like certain loops and the Wildflower part).
But water was hot, and they have a sink for washing dishes. So loved that. Enjoyed the trails.
I’m a local- had been to the beach once before, which I think is always crowded. But this was our first time camping and exploring. We’ll be back.

We had a great time staying here in the middle of October as the leaves were starting to change. Just a warning our site was not level and needed a bunch of work to level out our camper. There are a lot of great trails, you could stay here for days and explore. The park rangers were all very nice. A few airplanes overhead but nothing nearly loud enough to wake you up at night. Every once in a while you might hear a truck. There were plenty of locations where you could fill up water. A nice dump station for campers.
