Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on August 26, 2020This was our first experience at a State Park and are looking forward to returning. The grounds are incredibly well maintained and the facilities were immaculate.
We booked quite late into the summer season and we're lucky to secure a spot. We were on the Plateau Loop, on the "inner" circle of the Loop. The sites on the outer edge of the loop are much more private and treed, but we were quite happy with our location, none the less.
The beach and day use area was stunning and there did not appear to be one "bad" site on the main loops, all of which were walking distance to the waterfront. It's a good walk from the plateau Loop to the water, including crossing a county road. Driving should be expected if camping on the plateau.
All in all a great experience and we will certainly be back.

This is our second trip to Westcott Beach State Park and it was equally enjoyable as the last, albeit a completely different experience. We were on the main campground very close to the unofficial campers beach. The weekend heat was record breaking so the easy access to the very relaxed atmosphere beach was fantastic! This strip of beach was dog friendly and we took our two labs down for several swims to cool off.
The site was very spacious, both wide and deep, and nicely grass covered. The facilities were only steps away. Unlike the facilities at the Plateau loop, these washrooms left much to be desired. They were relatively clean but definitely run down and in need of a facelift.
Looking forward to returning again!

Large campsites for the most part however no privacy between sites. Unfortunately because of high water levels in Great Lakes the beach was closed. I would think it would be a beautiful beach also was a marina and boat launch. The grounds were spacious and beautiful. The campground itself not so much. The plateau campground across the street up a hill was large grassy sites with no privacy. If your looking for quiet and privacy this is not the place more of a party campground atmosphere.

We had a lot of high hopes for this park with it being on the lake but were disappointed once we arrived. I think the park has a lot of potential but isn't being well managed. Staff weren't really rude but weren't very nice either. The grass around our site was knee high and the bathrooms/garbage were quite a hike away. We were supposed to be here 4 nights but after 1 night ended up moving on.

We drove 6+ hours to get to the site and the had a very pleasant experience. The camp staff are very nice and helpful. There is even a little general store across the road to get your ice and libations!
We will definitely come back for a repeat visit as we are really into exploring upstate New York.
