Most sites have a concrete pad and patio with full hookups and limited cable. The park has fiber optic internet that for the most part is very good. There is no cell service. However, if you use Verizon the signal pings off the wifi thus you have Verizon cell service.
The campground is located only 3 miles from the AT and is close to many other hiking opportunities. They are several wineries , tubing, museums and small towns to explore. It is only 15 miles from the North Georgia Fairgroinds in Hiawassee, Ga where they have many music shows all year. There are U.S. Many lakes nearby suitable for kayaking.

$20 for full hookups, nice sites, lots of Airstreams and pretty locations. Hosts were very nice and explained that you no longer need to be a WBCCI member to stay.
We grabbed a spot right by a little playground and loaded the kids back into the car to check out Babyland General Hospital, birthplace of Cabbage Patch Kids, about 20 mins away. Honestly, just a big retail store but a pretty stately building with nice gardens and some exclusive stuff. Nearby Helen is a strange German-themed strip mall but might be a little more happening in the high season. Adventure courses and tubing as well as hiking opportunities all around.
With a booster and directional antenna we were able to get 2 bars of 4G Verizon, good enough to stream a show with only a few buffering moments. And that was only 'cause we felt guilty about using their pretty good wifi for it. They have a few access points located throughout the park and it's darn fast.

This was our first weekend out with our new Airstream, so we knew we would have a few questions. We got there late on a Friday evening, and our host, Bob, could not have been nicer. He treated us like family, showed us around, and made sure we found our spot and got our cables and hoses working correctly. We were instantly greated by our neighbor, a regular camper at Top of Georgia, and he helped us with our TV, maps, and info about the area. We felt like old friends after about 5 minutes. Great people we hope to see again, for sure. We would leave our camper unlocked and a few things outside while we left to hike and eat, never once worrying about our things. This is unique, I'm sure, and we may not find that safety at other campgrounds. All in all, we will definitely go back, and are sure we will have the same experience.

Top of Georgia suffered a bad blow from a tornado in late March 2018.
Currently closed. Repairs underway.
Nice campground run by an Airstream club.
Great location in the Georgia mountains. Close to Unicoi State Park and other state parks, and the alpine” town of Helen is nearby, with restaurants and, you know, fudge and stuff.
Friendliest campground we’ve ever used.
Wish the club members the greatest success in putting Top of Georgia back in operation.

I stopped by this airstream park to take a look and was greeted very pleasantly. Very helpful, kind, and accommodating! I took a drive through the park and most of it was open and unshaded. Trees were located on the perimeter but not much greenery or privacy or shade/shelter between sites at all. If I stayed here long term ( which I definitely would consider)... I would need to be able to spruce my site up a bit w flowers or flowering bushes or something.
Nice area for dogs. They told me that they just upgraded to the best WiFi and it was supposed to be very fast. The wifi in most campgrounds around here don’t allow for great streaming usually. Didn’t see many people outside of their trailer ( May 2019) socializing, but then again I was only there for an hour or so.
Lovely people and lovely location... just needs a little TLC.

We absolutely LOVED our stay here and can't wait to go back. We joined the Wally Byam Airstream Club which unlocks the $15 rate and a great monthly rate. Full hookups. GREAT Wifi. Even some (rugged) hiking trails on site and another that connects to the AT a 1-mile walk up the road. If you're a cyclist, this is a GREAT place to ride road or gravel. Can't wait to visit in summer and sit in the creek on a hot day! Great to be close to Helen for all it has to offer. Probably the only bummer is the 10-minute drive to town, but it's worth it. No cell service but we used wifi calling without a problem.

We stayed here over the week of Thanksgiving and are now back for the week of Christmas. We had heard great things from fellow airstreamers but ToG exceeded our expectations. Quiet, clean, extremely well maintained, excellent WiFi, full hookups, great for dogs. No off leash area but there are hiking trails immediately from the campground that go for miles—great for hiking with the dog. Love parking right backed up to the stream and enjoying the sounds of it through the windows. Lots of sunshine — great for solar and staying warm outside even on a chilly day. Could sit out in the pavilions and work from home with great WiFi provided. Definitely recommend joining WBAC for the $15 rate—pays for itself very quickly. Easy access to all that North GA has to offer, as quick drive to Helen where we were pleasantly surprised with some of the newer restaurants And ships (we grew up near here and were never big fans with how touristy it is). Really great camp hosts and other campers nearby—

We stayed for two nights. First time at an Airstream only campground. Absolutely impressed. No cell service but really good Wi-Fi throughout the park. Full hook ups. Come and go as you please, there are no reservations. Plenty of sites available. Nice stream behind us. Super friendly hosts. Some road noise behind during the day, quiet at night. Tons of stuff to do around here. Wish we could stay longer.
