We pulled in to this area with the intention of crashing for the night, the area was so nice we stayed for two nights. Within a very short walk from the camping area is a outdoor archery range with trails, and a small pond. A little ways back in the woods you will find a planted field, most likely put there by the Arkansas Fish in Game for deer habitat. The parking area is dry, and only on our first night was there another camper who camped across the road from us in order for both parties to have plenty of privacy. If you drive down the road and the area is full, you can go to the end of the road and turn around at the archery clubs club house. Is is a great area to catch some peace from the highway, although you can hear it from a long distance away while outside. When your ready to hit the road again, there is a couple of fuel stations at the intersection of the highway, and if you really want you can catch 70 across the way and stay off of the highway for long sections.

Great free spot to stay. Two camping areas on either side of the road, space enough for maybe 6 rigs total.
Google tried to get me to take a dirt road to access this location from the freeway; DON’T take the dirt road. It’s muddy and you’ll sink. Instead, drive to the next paved road (on the right after the big field) and resume navigation.
There is a water spigot on the left side of the road camping area, and another near the archery range at the end of the road.
If the main camping area is full or too muddy, drive to the archery range at the end of the road and there is a parking lot in front of the community center building; saw someone parked there for the night, though I’m not sure it was “official”.

We stayed January 2020. The place is just a few minutes off interstate 40. You can kind of hear the traffic noise when you're outside, but it is pretty muffled and almost sounds like the ocean if you pretend :-)
There are large gravel spots on either side of the road that are pretty level, although the ground seems low so stay on the gravel pads or you might get stuck in squishy mud.
If you travel down the road a little further you will come to a single, round gravel site right on a small pond. We wish we had seen this when coming in, we definitely would have picked that spot instead. There is only one though so if it's taken you may have trouble backing up your RV so we recommend if you have a big rig to leave it at one of the spots indicated by GPS and then go check out the waterfront site.
We picked up very little trash, I consider it a clean place considering it's free and seems to be frequently used.
Access road is paved all the way to the campsites. It's a little narrow but flat on either side so if you encounter oncoming traffic it's not a big deal.
There is a water spigot almost exactly where the GPS coordinates say, though it's closer to the road so you need to fill up your tanks before parking.
Love's travel stop is about 5 minutes away, as are some local restaurants. There is a Walmart 25 minutes down the road.
Both Verizon and AT&T were fast without a booster. In fact, AT&T was showing 5Ge while we were here, presumably because of the proximity to the interstate.
Very dark and quiet at night.

We spent a night here on our way north to Mark Twain National Park, and it was great! There were no other campers, plenty of space (level and flat), and very quiet.
Stay on the gravel areas because it can get muddy after rain.

This was a good nightly stopover when traveling west between AL and OK.
Fairly easy to get to from I-40; our GPS (Google maps) took us right there — no issue with random dirt roads as mentioned before.
Good stuff: quiet, nice little road to walk the pup on; fields for her to play off leash as well (would advise being mindful of off leash safety if hunters around). Shady to keep cool, and the water spigot was nice even though we didn’t use it.
Stuff we didn’t love: We parked on the first area on the left as you approach the campsites. We could not back onto the gravel — as advised by other reviews (and we would advise as well) — because too many campers before had churned up deep mud in front. We parked on the dirt by the spigot which worked fine for us for one night since it had not rained in a few nights—but given the tree cover, the dirt was still damp and would have been a no-go had it been more rainy lately. Lots of bugs and mosquitos with standing water nearby in the ponds. Not a huge problem in our minds but be aware if you are bug averse. A good bit of trash around the makeshift fire ring and scattered among the sites.
We agree with other reviewers that the sites by the archery range would have been much better—but these were already full when we got there.
Being a Friday night after most COVID restrictions were lifted there were several other campers around. Not a problem for us—but if you want privacy then may not be your top pick!

Free, Nice and quiet place, fairly close to the interstate. There is some swampy areas close by, so you may encounter some insect activity.

I'm at the site right now. As another reviewer noted, if your GPS puts you on a gravel/grassy road, don't take it. Keep driving to the next right, then right again to the site. Ad of 5:30 pm, we are the only campers. Lots of trees, a few flies, and hot (its mid-July). No hookups, so expect to boondock.

I was surprised to find nonody else around on a Fall Friday night. As expected, it's high humidity and no wind, so lots of insects. The campsites are well labeled and cleared away. They're work great for a tent or vehicle, but may be a challenge for RV's. There's noise from the interstate, but not too bothersome.
