So i called them yesterday on the way to make sure they still allowed overnight parking as the last review was from sept 2022..
they told me YES no problem.. we came to far side of parking lot and there is grass and a couple picnic tables behind us.. not sure it that going to be a problem or not.
lot is somewhat large and we had no issues with 30 ft TT.. there is far amount of traffic as this is a main way out around the side of lot..
lights keep it nice and not to bright but when you are in Fairbanks on June 20 and it midnight and the sun is still quite high in the sky you have black out shades for windows.. :)
* My take on Hwy 41 from Canada 1 to Sweetgrass border station.. WHICH by the way hours are 8-5pm I would not tackle that road with anything less than 90 mins min.. it smooth at first then get real bumpy, wavey etc so fast is not option unless you want broke springs etc.
PS... it is now 9pm and two trains 2 hrs apart have come by heading east blowing horn 4 times due to crossing just some 1/4 to 1/2 mile from the parking lot.. hope this is not a trend ALL NIGHT.. will update in the morning.. :(
Nice location.
Walmart closes at midnight. So facilities not overnight. They reopen at 7am.
Quiet lot.
Mostly level.
No drama in the parking lot.
3 day limit.
Best Walmart we’ve stayed at.
Customer Service did give instruction to stay to the outer rim of the lot. Be courteous and park so that you dont impede any other parking customers.
This particular Walmart has a designated spot for trucks/rvs. There were still other RVers in the normal parking lot however. Right next to the road so bring a fan to drown out the noise - really not terrible though.
Stayed in lot overnight in a 40’ Motorhome. Flat lot with decent size space; plenty of trucks and other RV’s stayed here. There is a train close by and the Walmart is open until midnight. We had no issues sleeping and felt safe. We would stay again.
The Walmart in Havre, MT is a great place for a overnight stay. It has easy access off of MT rd. 2 East, a large parking area around the parking lot perimeter for parking RV's, the WiFi was strong and never dropped out , plus there is a very large (and mowed) grassy area for walking your pets. Because we parked with our slide over the grassy area we were able to fully extend our slide and that was nice. There are also security cameras in the parking lot. IMHO its a very safe place to overnight.
There is a BBQ place about a mile in town (in a remodeled gas station) that is really good! But mickyD's and pizza hut also close buy
There is some road noise off of 2E and an nearby railroad track but by 10:00PM all was quite and we had a very restful night.
For 0$ you can't beat it.
Definitely recommend the Walmart in Havre, MT for overnight RVing.
