I was looking forward to my families private deep sea fishing adventure and was extremely disappointed!!
We booked a month in advance and explained we wanted to go haddock fishing. We were told that would be fine for the half day trip we reserved with “Rockie.” Once we arrived and checked in Captain Garret told us he will be taking us out for striper fishing. We explained we reserved a private trip for haddock fishing. Captain Garret explained we can do that but it takes two hours to get to the haddock spots. For a 6 hour trip that meant most of the time we would be boating to and from, leaving only two hours of actually fishing time. We asked if we could stay out longer and were told we could for an additional cost.
We were never informed of the additional cost when initially reserving the trip. We get to the boat with our coolers to be told we can only have 6 people and the 7th person wasn’t informed to him. Again we gave all information prior to booking the trip. Finally everyone was allowed on the boat just for us to quickly find limited seating (two small benches in the cabin, mostly filled with the Captains gear). Thankful we brought coolers for most to sit on.
During the two hour boat ride out to where haddock should be Captain Garret smoked cigarette after cigarette. He never asked if it would bother anyone. After two hours we finally got to where the haddock “should be,” however the Caption needed to call on other Captains for “hot spots” since he wasn’t finding any fish where he brought us.
We were then on another half an hour journey to where another Captain informed they were catching plenty of haddock. We spent about an hour catching a dozen fish just for half to be tossed back because they were supposedly half an inch to short. I watched how Captain Garret was measuring the fish and most were long enough.
The ocean was becoming fairly choppy so we ended up heading back in to fish for stripers. While heading in Captain Garret had a couple men from my family drive the boat so he could filet the fish we were allowed to have.
We spent the last 45min near shore attempting to catch anything that would bite. Once our time was up we were brought back to the dock and unloaded. Captain Garret was tipped close to $100 and we thanked him.
One person left a personal belonging behind by accident so a family member went back to the boat to retrieve it. Once at the boat my family member could hear Captain Garret trash talking my family to another Captain.
As if the trip wasn’t bad enough, once we arrived home and looking forward to a family fish fry we discovered the fish were brutally filleted and most of the spine was still on the leftover meat. There were so many small bones that the fish was wasted.
$900 for the private 8 hour fishing trip and close to $100 in tips just to throw it all away.
Never Again will we go or recommend this company.
Extremely frustrated and discouraged!!!

We had a great experience taking the well watching tour thanks to a group on deal! This was our first time out on the ocean or a boat. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a galley area inside where you can purchase snacks and beverages, but they let you carry-on as well. Bring a snack especially if you're susceptible to motion sickness it will help you keep your mind off things. If it's overcast rainy still go. We were able to watch it thunderstorm rolling in on the horizon, such a beautiful site! We spotted two whales and watched fisherman pole in a tuna bigger than both of them combined. The excursion itself last about three hours it takes about an hour to get out there, and if you see something they'll stick around. However if you don't see something in the first meeting ground don't continue until they find something. So you could end up staying out much longer. We got on the boat at 12 and got back about 430. Definitely worth the $40 for the two of us and would do it again.
