“an obelisk with a bagel”
Theories come and theories go. The theory that the Earth was hollow came and went pretty fast back in the 1800s. But Captain John Symmes from Hamilton got a monument out of it nonetheless. The obelisk with a bagel on top is tucked away inside a fenced off area in a city park. Hamilton, as some may know, is the only U.S. city to have officially added an exclamation mark to its name in an attempt at revitalization. Hamilton! decided it wasn't working a few years later, and ditched it, but some of the trash cans in said park still carry the old spelling.
