“A campground with a little extra luxury!”
While traveling by motorhome is an amazing adventure, occasionally you will need a campground with a little extra luxury that a motorhome just can't offer. American Wilderness Campground with its modern restrooms, showers and laundry facilities will provide you with the comfort you are missing on your road trip. You will also find a dump station to help keep your motorhome fresh and access to city water. If you happen to visit during less than appealing weather, or just want an extra level of comfort you can also rent one of American Wilderness Campgrounds' cabins for all or part of your stay. To ensure you have everything you need during your stay, and when you are ready to get back on the road, there is also a Log Cabin Store onsite. The Log Cabin Store is a fully equipped camp store with ice, firewood, bait, merchandise, souvenirs, groceries, fishing gear, camp equipment, toys and more!!!!!

Nice place, does allow late check-ins, just stop by the
Need location between IN and PA to spend one night while traveling. Nice people and very responsive to problems.
WiFi did not work. 50-AMP electric did not have enough voltage for my RV. Surge Suppressor would not allow a connection. Camped on 30-AMPs.
One positive was that site 138 was level.

Great place to camp. Nice large sites. Plenty of activities for kids and adults. Liked the swimming lake and fishing. Has wooded lots and hiking trails. Grounds and showers clean. Staff was friendly. Camping store well stocked.

I think if you like to camp in what I consider 'old school' with a pond for swimming and another pond for fishing this place suits the bill. It is a park like setting which can be pretty. Kids were playing in the field, and the adults I encountered seemed to be having a good time. But some campers don't clean up their litter, and the bathhouse which was very far from our campsite was old and buggy and dirty. One alternative is to use the vault toilets. Also the entry road was very narrow, and an oncoming vehicle meant you had to brush against tree limbs.

Very unimpressed with this is a Good Sam park. The worst park we’ve ever stayed at.

DISLIKES:
1. No sewers
2. How about letting us know that the road is closed 1 mile before campground? That seems like it would be nice. It’s not like it just happened yesterday. They’ve been at it all spring and summer . Here’s an idea since I talked to you on the phone to make the reservation, how bout letting me know it’s closed and where to go since this town doesn’t seem to know what a detour sign means. HELLO! It means show me a detour not just a sign that says road closed! WTF!!
3. Rude checkin
4. 1 mile to showers
5. Disgustingly dirty shower rooms. Oh and no hot water. Tried at 9am then 11 am ran water for 10 minutes ice cold.
6. Literally no signage in the place except for the folks next to us with a combo Pow MIA / Confederate Flag Which hmm were there MIA’s in the civil war?
7. Uneven pads for RV
Whatever you do, Don’t stay here!

So let me Preface this by saying I’ve camped here three times this summer- each time progressively worse than the previous. I completely, 100%, blame the travel restrictions and people flowing into campgrounds for getaways that have no business being out of their trailer parks.
This campground is gorgeous from a nature perspective, it is not full hookup and 90% of the people have no clue how to use the dump station. I’ve seen people dump in the parking lot and drive away. The late night partying and noise is only made worse by the permanent sites who try and be louder and drunker than the transients. We had people park and block our site, it got worse as summer went on. I think you get the Elyria trash flowing down and maybe the Columbus crack heads coming up- either way I’d never stay here again. The people who work here don’t care at all,we’ve called complaints and were told to handle it ourselves. Sites flood and are horribly maintained, ours was literally flooded and their solution was for me to
Go buy wood or dirt.

1. Poorly managed campground. Rude management that just does not care. No updates to campground. The significant amount they charge is not being reinvested back into the campground.
2. No entertainment, very few amenities apart from a pond & arcade which is frequently locked.
3. Narrow roads, potholes, mud pits, old run down sheds advertised as cabins, disgusting showers, gross vault toilets.
4. Way over priced for what you get. $3500- $4800 for a seasonal site on average.
5. No sewer hookups. One sewer up front that frequently backed up & flooded (their 2nd was broken all year)
6. Nickel & dime extra fee add ons - for honey-wagon dump, even when their sewer was overflowing & there was no other way to dump tanks. Also an extra fee to be “residential”.
7. We left two full months early (taking that financial hit) it was that bad. Management refuses to consider returning our gate key deposit ($50) and also refuses to read our electric meter to determine our usage for our electric deposit ($100) for another two months.
8. Speaking of gate keys, the gate is left open after hours every night. There is little use for one and the sites are not secure.
9. Bottom line, the place is a dump. Management is awful. It takes a lot for us to feel compelled to write this kind of review but don’t want to see anyone else waste their time or money!
Nice people, very roomy sites, lots of shade. WiFi was a little iffy.
