Gordon Dam Campground

My family and I stayed here over 4th of July weekend and surprisingly the campground wasn’t completely filled up. Campground sits up on a hill from the Dam. You can launch a boat on either the Gordon Flowage or on the St. Croix River. Nice playground that my children enjoyed. Paved road going in needs work. Watch out for the pot holes. “Pit” toilets. No showers but a nice swim in the river.

What a beautiful spot to camp along the St. Croix! The park and scenery were absolutely lovely! No hookups or amenities since it was the end of October but it discounts the price to $12/night. The campground was pretty quiet, not very many other campers or day visitors. We enjoyed a really pretty float down the river for fly fishing.

There are bathrooms and electricity and water but only during the summer season and I believe the price goes up to about $24/night.

The sites have fire rings and 21 was pretty level and right by the dam so the rushing water drowned out any other noise which made it very peaceful.

The road in is a little haggard which was why I gave it only 4 stars, but it is paved, just lots of potholes.

Will camp here again the next time we want to fish this spot!

Despite being pretty full on a July Saturday night the sites along the water were separate from the rest of the park and quite serene. The lake is lovely with great views from the small pier and dam. The sites were basic but with good water and electric service. Cell service was robust on T-Mobile 5G and okay on AT&T 4G (not much on Verizon).

There is no dump station here but another county park (Lucius Woods) 20 minutes north has one you can use.

The 6 mile road in from the highway is newly paved and awesome but there are some low hanging branches.
