Convenient to travelers on Hwy 95 traveling through Nevada. The road to Gemfield mining claim is relatively smooth with occasional turnouts. Recommend big rigs scout the area before committing to the area.

Used one of the many pullouts along the road to the Gemfield claim. Will get the motorcycle unloaded tomorrow and explore the rest of the sites. Who knows, I may find a better one! Beautiful area for leisure hikes and looking at rocks. Lots of burro dung here, so I will expect visitors tonight! 360 degree views and lots of Joshua trees.

This was our spot for an overnight from Carson City to Kingman Az. What an excellent find! We pulled in at night, no one around, barely any road noise from freeway and gorgeous star gazing! Google maps gets confused getting you here, but take the gem field road exit and you’ll avoid doing a u-turn like we had to. This spot accommodated our 32’ class c and Jeep Wrangler 4 door in tow. There’s only one way in with an RV here at the top side and will require a 3 point turn to get in, and if your tow dolling your going to have to disconnect. However its worth it. Turns out 3 miles up the road is a place to go pick your own gemstones! It was Fun for the 3 kiddos we are traveling with and an excellent surprise side trip. I highly recommend staying a night here and enjoying your journey, not the destination.

We towed our 16' trailer and found a great circular pull off with a firepit. The spot was clean (well, only burro poo) and tons of room. Dirt road but well maintained. There are several pull offs on this road; we were at 37.736776, -117.269277. Just up the road there's a dig-your-own chalcedony rock mine that's privately owned. We had three vehicles total drive by in 24 hours, very private and peaceful. Lots of burros in the area and we saw 10 burros walk by in the afternoon. Lots of pretty rocks to grab!

Great quiet place off the main road, maybe 1-3 miles depending on what spot you grab. ATT phone signal was good. It was quiet. Occasional low flying jet passing by.

Nice place to weather out some strong winds. Lots of Joshua Trees and sage brush. We took the first turnout on the right about 1/2-3/4 of a mile in. Nice level spot for 25’ Toy Hauler. You could easily get in a much bigger rig. Slightly washboard road but not bad. Turn at sign that says Gemstone 3 miles! GPS took us past turn

Easy to locate off 95. Found big pull out a mile or so in. Easy to level up. Peaceful, no other people near. Some at earlier pull out spaces on road. Chilly 36 degrees rain and sleet.
Nice stop over place. Main road is good, side roads a little more bumpy.
Clean no trash!

We stayed at the first pullout, about a mile off of 95. Took a few minutes (9 point turn!) to get turned around to leave, but we made it. We are a 45' Super C. Site wasn't perfectly level, but worked for us.

We stayed here in our 36ft class A with toad. We stayed in the first site about 3/4 mile in. The road is dusty and bumpy but typical for BLM. Multiple rigs or any size rig would fit.
There was a second bigger spot 1/2 mile further up the road. There was a small group there when we arrived. If you are low you’ll need to be careful how you enter the 2nd spot.
This is an awesome place for rock hounding. The wild burros pass by a couple times a day.
There are roads for off roading and if you go 3 miles in you can find amazing rocks at gem field mine, they charge by the pound.
We had two Dust storms in our 3 night stay. Other than the wind we loved it here.

One of our fave boondocking sites! Nice cool nights, we had a beautiful full moon, no bugs or anything to worry about. Saw only one other can far away from us. Just donkeys and Joshua trees! No noise, beautiful surroundings yet so close to the highway. Highly recommend!
