Geneva Township Park

The 11.9-acre Geneva Township Park is north of State Route 531 (Lake Road East), east of Park Drive and west of the northern terminus of Austin Road. A parking lot is available north of Austin Road. The bluff along the park’s west has been gently graded to an easily-traversable mowed-grass slope. Ten precast concrete modular groins run along the west end of the park’s 1,050-foot shore. Depending on water levels, a sand beach may be present between the groins. On the park’s east, paved paths from the parking lot lead to a handicap-accessible wooden ramp which zigzags through natural-growth vegetation down the low bluff to a seawall. The seawall is capped with paved concrete. Fishing is allowed here as well as from the groins. Benches overlooking Lake Erie are along the south side of a mulch path at the top of the bluff. The eastern portion of the park is partially shaded by deciduous trees while the west is an open mowed-grass field. Additional amenities at Geneva Township Park include picnic shelters and tables, playground equipment, trails, an upland sand volleyball court and a baseball field. Swimming, camping, biking, skateboarding, alcoholic beverages, gambling and unleashed dogs are prohibited on park grounds. A bike rack is located at the park’s main gate. Geneva Township Park is open form 9 am to dusk, May through September.
