Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on June 05, 2021After leaving Pipestone Natl Monument and heading toward the Twin Cities, we decided to take a chance on this park. We are so glad that we did! It was so beautiful and the sites were huge and well spaced apart. It has many trees and also huge open grassy areas, both challenging and easy hiking trails, equestrian trails, lovely playgrounds, a stream, picnic shelters and tables, etc. There are two campgrounds, the Lower c/g has 16 sites and the Upper has 14. There is also a separate Equestrian c/g with 22 sites. The first 5 sites in each area is reservable, the rest are FF. All sites have electric only. Phone coverage was sketchy in the park as it is down in a valley. As soon as you start to head uphill, it gets much better. It is easily accessible, but the road was dirt and long. It made a mess of our toad. It was practically empty in May. Highly recommended
