We camped here for the first time for a long weekend with out Wildwood and our vintage popup with family. What an awesome view of the Hartwell Lake Dam. We were in a small cove that led out into big water and the water was much cleaner here than at other campgrounds on Hartwell Lake. Great access down to the water. The campsite was 80% shaded which was great considering it was 95 degrees with as much humidity as well. The bathhouses were very well kept and clean. We have found that the Army Corp of Engineers has awesome roomy campsites and well kept grounds. We will definitely be back here! We have found a new favorite!

This site is best suited for smaller campers, pop-ups or tents. The site was one of the smallest in the campground but with a nice view and close to a bath house. Not great access down to the water due to the overgrowth since the lake level is very low. But it was cooler weather so we really didn't need water access. We will definitely camp at this campground again but not on this particular site. Cell service was spotty but not totally inaccessible.

Attractive wooded campground on Lake Hartwell. Sites are mostly level, large, and have a lake view. Some sites well separated and some fairly close. Sites 24-50 are the quietest with very little road noise from U.S. 29. Sites have very fine sand like gravel which is messy especially when wet. Quiet during the week with 60% occupancy, full on the weekend with more noise but still OK. Good boat launch ramp and small dock. Did not use bathrooms which were open. Site had not been cleaned before my occupancy: plenty of ashes in firepit and some small pieces of trash on site. ATT cell four bars. Fast streaming. I would return.

This is a nice campground on Lake Hartwell within view of the dam. Most sites are rather small and close together compared to other COE campgrounds we've stayed at. Narrow roads in places would make maneuvering a big rig a challenge. Since sites are on the small side, parking at the site is rather limited but there are several parking areas. The bath houses were clean and well taken care of, the locations left me puzzled however. Two of the facilites are right across the road from each other with one being a newer one with showers, and the third older bath house being within sight of the other two. This leaves the folks at the end of the loops a long way from facilities. There is no swimming beach but a nice boat ramp is available. Being close to the dam and a highway made for quite a bit of road noise in most of the campground. Cell coverage was fair, as was over the air TV channels. One big drawback was only one dump station with one drain, this made waiting in line at the dump station almost a sure thing. We'll go back but only because this campground is open year round.

Large sites and easy to navigate the roads. The sites, however, are terribly unlevel. I noticed some creative use if blocks all around the park as none of the sites are super level, especially for a larger rig.

Dump station is easy to get to and very clean. Know that the bathhouses are closed during the winter so I'm not sure what the people without bathrooms did.

Nice stay and nice area.

Have waited six months into our RV life to start reviews for fair comparisons. Spent 5 nights. This was our introduction to ACE campgrounds and we were sold right away. Huge site right on the lake. So peaceful. Not a whole lot to do in the park (fine by me, happy to stare at a lake) but nice long walk to the dam, some reasonable mountain biking quick drive away.

If you're going here, the farther away you can get from the highway, the better. Other reviewers weren't kidding, the noise can be loud. If you're in sites 1-8, it must be like parking by the highway. Best choices are in the back loop (higher numbers) but for some reason, it isn't open until April 1 each year. Best sites by far, for smaller rigs, are 48-51, where you are on a small loop and blocked from the highway by the bathhouse and land.

I've got a review in the blog posts section with more detailed information and photos.

Clean rest room with 2-shower stalls

Sizable camp sites with good access to back in. Some are on a side drive with 3 pull thru sites or backing sites of this drive.ike the layout and feel majority would service my 27 ft Fifthwheel fine.
