Fort McAllister Historic State Park encompasses 1,725 acres on the banks of the Ogeechee River. The Park has the best-preserved earthwork fortification of the Confederacy. Visitors can explore the many historic sites, Civil War museum, and also enjoy the many outdoor recreation activities including camping, fishing, hiking, biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
