Most sites are on the water or have water views. Spacious sites of which many have some shade. The park is quiet and that is it's main attraction besides on the sea.
Nearby is Freeport with LL Bean and many other outlet merchandisers al lset in an early American theme. It is a neat place to visit, food is great and shopping of every venue.

A nice grassy park located on a bluff overlooking Casco Bay. Many sites offer a direct view of the water. No utility hook-ups, but there is a dump station, fresh water spigots, and coin-op showers. The park has a small beach, a boat ramp, a giant playground, and an outdoor stage where they offer free music every Thursday evening.
Despite all this activity, the campground area is very quiet and peaceful. There is a row of seasonal sites where campers leave their RVs all summer. On the week we visited most of these RVs were only occupied during the weekend, making for a very quiet mid-week stay.
The bay is perfect for kayaking with lots of little islands to explore and the town of Freeport only a short drive away.

To call this a "city park" is like calling the Grand Canyon a big arroyo. It is completely inaccurate. The park sits on the tip of a peninsula about 3 miles off highway 1 right on Casco Bay. Our site was on the Bay and well worth the $35 fee for the view. Most sites (1-19) are separated by trees and offer more privacy than ours did, but it's still lovely. The trails are well-kept and provide views of the peninsula and the Cove with the quintessential Maine elements - rocks, seaweed, tides, the smell of the ocean, the sound of sea birds, and lots of sky. This is all dry camping. The bathhouse is clean and showers are hot and free. We will be back!

We arrived at this amazing park without reservations and were met with gracious smiles and a warm welcome before being given our filtered sun site #76. This met our needs as solar did just fine in this dry camp park.
This park is absolutely gorgeous with spacious sites, clean restrooms and a great short walk to the point to take in the beauty of the surrounding area. All sites have a fire ring and table.
The only difficulty we encountered was in making reservations as this can only be handled via telephone which went unanswered. We rolled the dice and pulled in to be assigned a site.
Freeport, Maine is home to the flagship store LLBean which has literally tens of thousands of feet of retail therapy and they are open 24/7/365.
As a testimony to this campground, we are making a return trip on our journey. The people of Freeport, Maine, are indeed fortunate to have this City Park in their backyard.

This is a very nice city campground. It is very popular with the locals and some reserve their site for the entire season.
Restrooms were well kept and clean. There are water spigots throughout the park. There is a dump near the exit but no fresh water.
Sites are big with picnic table and fire pit. Trash cans throughout the park and they pick up every day. No real barrier between you and you neighbors. No hookups.
This was a great park to explore Freeport and Portland.

We loved this park! We were on a waterfront site ($30 for non-waterfront). Great kayaking with boat ramp. This is a tidal area so you can only kayak close to high tide. The water drains away at low tide with some boats sitting on ground.
Kids love this park. Big playground and a small rec building with games is very popular.

I called for a reservation about two weeks before arriving for a Saturday and Sunday stay. I was disappointed when told that there were no sites on the water and was assigned Stie 90. When I checked in I asked the host if this was a good site and she replied, “It’s okay. It’s on a little hill and there is a water spigot at the front of the site if I needed it.”
There were two contiguous sites in the clearing where I was assigned. There were no trees or shrubs between the two sites to provide privacy. Backing up the slight rise and negotiating the dog leg turn to the curbside would not have been bad if it were not for the dense, exposed tree roots. Glad I had 4WD.
My immediate neighbors were both friendly and helpful. So that was a bonus. But when I saw the amazing views from the waterfront sites I was definitely jealous of those who had scored one of these sites. The sites on the water are truly 5 star spots. The interior sites are so, so in my view.
The camp staff were helpful and friendly, and cellular service very strong. If I could get a reservation for a waterfront site I would certainly stay here again. The interior sites are nothing special and if that is all that is available, I’d probably pass.

The view of the bay was spectacular, definitely worth staying at least one night. Bathrooms needed some cleaning, and are utilitarian. Neighbors on both sides had lots of noisy kids on a weekday. If possible, come and scout the site before paying or take your chances if reserving it online. If you want privacy, stay in a wooded site away from the water

Winslow park campground is way south of Freeport almost to Yarmouth between the Harraseeket river and Casco bay. Playground picnic area boat ramp and beach. No hookups but dump station rest rooms and dump station available. Harraseeket lunch and seafood dock nearby is a must see old school Maine lobsta pound. Lobster is Not cheap anywhere! The Chinese have fallen in love with it.

Nice trails in the park for taking the dog out of the immediate campground area. Biked into Freeport from the campground. Kayaking had to be timed according to tides. Approx 9 ft surge, so bay on the back side of the campground peninsula periodically was empty of water.
