This is a quiet, clean campground just south of Charlotte close to Carowinds and Cabelas. DO NOT follow GPS directions - you will be routed through a residential area. Use the directions provided on the website.

The campground does have a number of long-term residents whose sites are mostly tidy. It is located on a hill so some of the sites are not completely level. Campsites are mix of gravel and asphalt. I believe that 50amp service is limited. If you absolutely require 50amp - call ahead. Long-term residents are generally working in the area, so evenings/nights are quiet.

Sites in the center of the park are generally pull-through with back-in sites around the perimeter of the park.

Wifi is on par with other campground Wifis - don't expect to stream movies, but you'll be able to pick up email.

There is a large dog park. Unfortunately, many campers do not pick up after their dogs so it can be rather dirty. This should reflect on the pet owners NOT the campground. Campground staff does clean the dog park but can not keep up with lazy owners.

There is a trailhead to a nice greenway along a little river that is easily accessible.

There is no playground or pool. I didn't use the bathhouse or laundry so can't speak to those conditions.

Office staff is friendly and helpful and does daily "ride-arounds" to check conditions.

The park is being updated. I would expect to see more renovations in the future.

If you are looking for quiet, safe place to explore Charlotte and surrounding areas - this is a good choice.

They should be ashamed charging $60. The site only had 50 amp, no 30. The sewer was up the hill making dumping hard. The site was a slew of potholes and I almost broke my ankle on a tree stump right outside my door.

New to full-timing, Crown Cove was our first experience with an rv park. From the get go, they’ve been accommodating to myself and my family. Even before we had purchased our new home.

Arrival and setup were seamless.

Being new to rv’ing, I picked a spot that was mostly level to give myself an upper hand in figuring this stuff out. The park is a mix of level, angled, paved, and gravel sites.

My understanding is that all regular sites are now “deluxe” and run that price tag listed on their website.

Not once have I ever felt unsafe here and I’ve never had one thing taken from my site. The park is mostly full-timers and was filled to 90+% capacity for the duration of our stay.

The playground isn’t fancy but it works for the little ones.

Laundry has a few options. $2 wash load. $3 wash load. $0.25 for 10 minutes of dryer time.

I never used the bathhouse so I can’t speak of it.

We’re leaving town soon until this world settles down but, I assure you, we’ll be back here when we return.

We stayed in spot 212 (premium spot in the upper paved parking lot) for 3 months. Overall, we had a great experience. Our spot was big and paved and mostly level but is basically a huge parking lot with RVs lined up. We had great neighbors and only had issues with one noise complaint the whole time we were there. There is a brand new bathhouse with is very nice and always immaculate. The laundry would use some work (half broken machines and was very busy, so we mostly went to a laundromat down the street). Unless paying for a premium spot, I can see why others would give it such a low rating. The other spots are some of the most unlevel I have ever seen and are extremely tight and packed in. The office staff was always extremely nice and so accommodating. They were very helpful and had cheerful attitudes. We would return but would make sure we could stay in a premium spot again otherwise would probably go somewhere else.

We found late in the day when rain made it hard to keep going. Campground manager answered phone after hours and immediately arranged overnight w/ full hookups and texted us instructions. Bathhouse and laundry within a block. Dog park on site.

We tried doing a long-term situation there. Many of our neighbors were living in campers that should have been condemned. Sad. Our immediate neighbors had a family of 6 (4 adults) living in a trailer approx. 20 feet long. The smell of skunk weed made its way into our RV constantly. You got a buzz if you walked outside. My husband came back from the showers, and said a couple had been having very loud sex in the shower next to his. The neighbor also fed a colony of feral cats , which would urinate on our camp chairs, etc every night. I was awaiting surgery, and very unsteady on my feet, using a walker. Rubble and rocks were all around our site. We asked to move, also stating the other reasons , but we’re told moves were not allowed under ANY circumstances, and although they were aware of the weed issue, they were unable to control what people did inside their own campers. They said the cats probably belonged to local homeowners, so they would not call animal control (even though York Co. Code mandates cats be confined to the homeowners property or fines applied). We wound up leaving before we had planned to- the potheads and cats can HAVE IT!

Stayed for 3 days. Quiet park with a lot of rv’s. On a slope so needed to level. Wifi isn’t good. Nice bathhouse with a shower and toilet in same room with own door. Very safe location tucked in with neighborhoods.

Welcome to our park, here is the RULES.

When you arrive, here you are greeted with 5 pages of rules. But of course, remember to have fun! We completely understand rules are what make good neighbors, but they had rules for everything. No laundry or towels outside, nothing on the ground, water, and sewer hoses in a 4-inch PVC or they are not liable, no mail or packages, it went on and one. After most of the rules, they remind you in many ways that they will kick you out without warning. The location is a bit strange; you are close to Carowinds and places to eat and shop, but the campground is in the middle of houses and apartments. First, this park has 3 very distinct camping areas and you do not get to pick your site, so be aware. The 3 areas are 1. A bit tree covered and hilly with paved sites. You are close together, no site area to play and there are campers behind you. 2. A parking lot with lines, no trees, no grass nothing but blacktop. 3. Sites are on the side of the entrance road and run parallel, with your door opening to the road. Your “site” is the road. We were in the 1st type. The owners do not care about their guest's experiences or the environment. The week we stayed there they had a pipe across from our site that was pouring out “water” and was running and filling our site. The pipe was sharing a conduit and was coming out of the ground under a large electrical box. The pools of “water” smelled strange and had a rainbow oil film on the top. The rock parking area on our site stayed discolored and had a film we were careful not to bring into the camper. We brought it to the owners’ attention and the owner did the bully trick of stepping into your space and telling you it was not a problem, and they had a contractor coming to fix it. It is now day 7 and the pipe is still pouring out water.

We feel strongly it is a part of a campground owner’s job to ensure their guest are safe. While visiting, the campground was part of a boil water advisory. They chose to email their guest in place of coming by the campers or posting bulletins around the park. This was a very poor decision for our family, we like to enjoy our time together and do not spend our time with our faces tied to a computer. Plus, the campground’s Wi-Fi was useless, and the cell signal in the area is inconsistent. It is irresponsible for a campground owner to use only one means of communication and unacceptable to select email when a person’s health is at stake. The ramifications of not getting the email is compounded if a camper filled their tanks with contaminated water.

We love to have fun, love our environment, and hate bullies, we will try to find another Campground next time.

We stayed here just long term while learning the ins & outs of our camper for full time traveling. The staff are all very friendly. You can receive mail on site with your own mailbox key. The dog park is good sized. There are lots of shade trees. The bathhouse is on point! Individual room with 1 shower, sink, and toilet in each. About 10 minutes from Carowinds amusement park. 10 minutes from grocery. We would stay here again if in the area. There's not really much in way of amenities on site but lots of things close.
