Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on April 18, 2023I travelled here with a 35’ 5th wheel, long bed pickup and parked in the site #5, an E only (30A), BI site for $22/night. Finding the campground was a little difficult. Rather than follow my GPS at the end, I just looked for the signs and campers. The road and sites in this FCFS park were gravel and level. It was a bit tight getting into the site due to overgrown bushes at the entrance of the site and overhanging branches. The vault toilet was not clean and smelled badly. Sites were about 10’ apart. Some trees were scattered around but weren’t in a position to give the rig shade. The electric post was fairly far back which made it impossible to park in the shade that was available. The campground is right by the fairgrounds but there were no events going on while I was there so it was quiet. No wifi, 4 bars LTE with Verizon, didn’t check OTA channels. The only accept cash or checks for payment. There was an issue with the power. Voltage randomly went way down flipping my surge protector to disconnect me. The park was not full and it wasn’t that hot so it would be much worse under those conditions. Water spigots near the vault toilet were threaded so you can fill your tank if needed. The other issue with the park is that random trucks would drive slowly through which was creepy. The camp host was MIA as well. I would not stay at this park again.

So we checked out the two in-town private RV parks, no thanks. Drove out to fairgrounds where the Canoe Launch was shown to be. Typical fairgrounds configuration of electric posts at perimeter of big field, LOTS of them, all vacant, but uneven ground to drive over to access electrical post. Picked the only one with some shade and a picnic table and staked it out for the night. Walking later in the evening, we stumbled upon the ACTUAL Canoe Launch Campground, which was much closer to the river behind the fairgrounds. Thought about moving, but on closer inspection the few sites that were open were full of trash. Someone had left an entire cardboard box of trash under a picnic table and fire rings were full of un-burned garbage. There was a camp host who appeared to be as indifferent to conditions there as anyone. Happier in our grassy patch up by the city street in the fairground. Fairground restrooms and showers hadn't been cleaned since the fair, at least, which closed about 5 days before our visit. Overflowing trash barrels everywhere at fairgrounds. Not much ambience. Maybe $20 was too much, but we love Ft B and wanted to be nearby.
