Confirmed by 6 users | Last reported on September 08, 2021I counted 17 sites with 4 right on the river. 2 shady pull throughs and 2 sunny back ins. The remaining sites are mostly back ins with a mix of sunny and shady options. The 2 vault toilets were very clean. I visited in early May and only 2 sites taken.
It is a fishing access area with a lot of day use
It is very easy access and good signage off of Hwy 93.

I’ve stayed at a lot of campgrounds, but never at one with a curfew. I secured a site and left a few things, then went into town (Missoula) to visit with some friends and came back to the campground about 12:30am, and the gate was shut and locked with a small sign attached reading that it closes at 10pm. I walked in, grabbed my things and went to Wal-Mart. If the fact that they lock the entrance gate at 10pm was posted somewhere, I completely missed it, although, I wasn’t looking for anything like that since I’ve never encountered such a situation.
Other than that, it seemed clean, quiet and maintained.

Campground is not far from Missoula and Florence. Mosquitos are very aggressive here. No hookups.

Stopped at Larry Creek (part of Bitterroot Nat Forrest), and both campsites there were full. Drove down the road a bit and found this. Very secluded, quiet, 17 sites, some drive/pull-thru, some just spaces to pull in or back in.
Picnic tables, fire rings with grills level & even spots. No hookups.

The campground is easy to get to with good signs. Traffic from Missoula at 3pm on a Monday was horrible (bumper to bumper).
I got a “river” site, but the water is still, like a pond. The mosquitoes were immediately attacking when I got out of the car. I don’t recommend a site by the river, instead, follow the road to a more wooded site (less mosquitoes).
At 10pm the campground gate closes, then there are nature sounds only, which is awesome. The sites are spread out nicely, too. At sunset, I heard a flock of geese settle along with many kinds of birds. After dark I heard coyotes in the distance.
There are dumpsters around to dump all your garbage. There’s a water pump at the entrance. Pit toilets are spread around, but I didn’t check them out.
For tent campers, it’s level and enough space for a giant tent.
Three bars on Verizon.
Would I stay again? Maybe—it was overpriced at $18. The still river wasn’t a good feature. Plus there’s garbage all over site 5, which I cleaned up when I left.

We are full-timers in a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow and stayed in site 17 (away from the river) for 1 day in early August. We were headed up US-93 toward Glacier NP and needed a place to overnight and all of the NF campgrounds in the area were full. $18 for non-residents is a bit steep for no hookups, but this campground worked out well, as it is pretty well maintained and quiet, other than a fair bit of traffic on the loop in the early evening, and most of the sites are fairly large and well spaced. AT&T coverage was ok, with 2 bars of LTE and speeds up to 2 MB/s. We were able to get DISH coverage on all three western satellites at our site. There were 13 OTA channels to be had with our fixed omni antenna.

We found this place to be a great place for us. We are a 40’ Class A towing a 25’ flatbed and had no difficulty navigating. There is highway noise but for us it was just far enough for some rest on our road trip. Our kids enjoyed exploring and it was clean, even the vault toilets. I don’t think I would make this a destination camping place but for a few days of rest from travel, passing through its great. I would definitely stay here again.

Has no water available except a manual pump closet to the entrance. We were able to pump water from the creek into our RV though. The gate coming in closes by 10pm (you can go out later but not come in). Some campsites are larger than others. Our 28’ class c and crv fit snugly in site 5.
Different cost per night. Max you will per is $18 cash in an envelope provided at the entrance

We stayed here for about 5 nights. All spots are first come first serve. No amenities other than a water pump and an outhouse. Pretty peaceful and quiet other than when people drove through to look at the site. Its about 15 minutes to Lolo or Stevensville. Easy access to Bitterroot River and was very beautiful.
