Bugs were very plentiful but such great internet it didn't stop us from enjoying the park. A bit dark at night so take a flashlight to go to toilet at night This location made it easy to see Duluth and Apostle Island

Old CG but well maintained grassy sites on the bank of the Floodwood river. Stayed one night in mid-80 degree weather so we could run our AC. All sites have 30 Amp power. The electric boxes are old and I had to keep the HW heater and refer on gas because of the low voltage - 110 VAC in this configuration. Went down to 102 VAC with the HW heater and refer on. Sites are well maintained. The pay station is on the restroom wall near the park entrance. The restrooms are old and a bit shabby, but clean and well stocked. There is a dump station in front of the restrooms, BUT there is no water connection - hence the downgraded site quality.
Very quiet - we were the only ones here. There are bugs, including mosquitoes.

Quiet midweek when I stayed, bathroom lacks the professional touch, but the shower was very hot. Cell service is good. It is on the edge of a small town, so walking distance to small grocery. Includes electric, picnic tables, fire ring.

Absolutely loved this middle-of-nowhere municipal campground. Spacious back-in site. Sites with electric are on the St Louis River, providing a beautiful, peaceful view to wake up to lots of privacy. Access to (shallow) river from campground. Well-kept and clean by current camp hosts. Hot shower with good water pressure.
No water or dump on site. Closest dump station is in Proctor, outside Duluth, about an hour away.

Check the bathroom to see if it is available before paying. Six block walk to the nearest station.
