Confirmed by 4 users | Last reported on September 27, 2023Did our first RV trip here. C class 24 footer. Will be hard to duplicate at another State Park. Very private spots with big separation. Only 6 sites. 1-3 have the most privacy. Clean rest rooms. Nice nature trail is 3.1 miles but can be upped to what ever you like with intersecting forest roads. Pine upland and cypress swamps. Stars are very visible, but still some light pollution from Jacksonville. Super quiet and peace full. If you like RV Parks may not be for you. Went in March and the weather was fantastic. Bright, dry and cool.

Nice quiet forest setting. 7 sites now at the campground, 2 of which are walkup (sites 1 and 7). Lots of hiking options here or just take a lap of the campground and nearby nature trail to the wash house and pavilion. Noise....trains and truck traffic on nearby route 301.

Great camping, small campground, only 7 sites, each nicely spaced, 200m I'd guess, from each other tucked in the Cary State Forest. HUGE sites! with nice picnic tables, fire ring with benches around to sit, grill, large mulched site for tent camping, concrete pad for camper, a T-rack for hanging food on, water and power. Absolutely wonderful for sleeping in the great outdoors, no lights to block view of stars. Occassional train would be only noise outside of nature. Drove to small town, Baldwin to ride the 14+mile rail to trail. Very nice if this is your idea of getaway.
Small, 2 stall, very nice, clean bathhouse.
Staci is a friendly informative hostess!

We found this gem on Campendium, and reviews were on target. Its a lovely spot. It’s quiet, the campsites are huge, and there are only seven sites. Each site has a concrete pad for your RV, an area for your tent, and a fire pit with a couple of benches. Electric and water hookups as well, with a dump station on the way out. It’s a bit of a walk to the restrooms / showers, but the facilities are nice once you get there. Even more amazing, here in the middle of nowhere, we have full bars on both Verizon and AT&T. Add this one to your list!

Small campground with huge campsites! I would rather not leave this review because I don’t want too many people to find out about it. But if you like seclusion & privacy this is the camp ground for you. Plus all the amenities seem fairly new.

Like the previous reviewer, I am hesitant to tell anyone about this hidden gem!
The campsites are HUGE and spaced far apart from neighbors. All have a concrete pad, picnic table, benches and firepit. We absolutely loved #4, but #3 and #6 would be private, too. FYI - Campsite #2 has an odd layout, with the hookups on the opposite side of where they should be located.
It's very quiet at night, with the faint noise of a train from time to time. The sky is dark, so stargazing was nice. We hiked the boardwalk trail which was nice and easy.
The restrooms are located a bit far from the campground area, but they were always nice and clean. The park itself is not crowded, mostly because a lot of people from don't know about it! It's a perfect place to just unwind for a few days.

DATE VISITED = Nov. 2020...only seven sites total, two were closed, and it was never full while we were here which was heaven...nice site amenities with concrete pad, picnic table, lantern post, two benches, grill, and nicely bricked fire ring...shower house was open, but was a bit dark/dank, so we left it for the tree frogs in there...formal trails are nice, kept mowed, boardwalks in good shape...many miles of sand roads for walking/biking...distant train noise, some road noise, sand trucks a few days to increase the pile at the DOT (?) area...mostly very quiet and peaceful...lots of OATV...Critters Spotted: Cuban tree frog, turtle, anole lizard, praying mantis

We enjoyed this stay so much and wanted to stay an extra night but the website says no availability.
Concrete pad fit our 40 foot RV.
Electric and water hook ups.
Dump station by the entrance near group camp site 7.
Dumping seems to be free to the public.
We heard the train every now and then but it wasn’t loud.
Would love to stay here again.
Worth the money
The road leading to the campsite is a bit narrow so be careful in certain spots.

This is a campground for those who want to get away from it all. There are six sites total and they are spread out and very large.
At night you can hear a little bit of road noise but it’s not too bad. The area is pine Flatwoods and there is a wonderful nature trail that’s about 2 miles.
When I was there, the restroom was out of order so I can’t give it five stars. It’s a state forest so there’s obviously no hook ups so I had to watch my gray water.
Bryceville is a wide spot in the road with a post office, dollar store, and a teeny tiny library. Groceries are 15-20 minutes away.
This park is popular for people who like to go mudding or jeeping. If this is your thing, I strongly recommend having the right vehicle. I helped some young men get out of the mud and on the way back I got stuck as well. The forest service will not pull you out.

Campgrounds are very private compared to other similar places. There's also plenty of wood to gather.
