Fernley WMA

In summer don’t hold out hope for reservoirs...they will, against all odds, be dried up. However, totally worth going down long rocky road if your car can kick it! Keep driving past the main pull off spots and find somewhere where it’s just you and mounds of sand (past the trash bins with skulls and the dried out dead cow :’( ). Reevaluate your choices if you’re not going on a full moon in a homemade camper your hot boyfriend made for you to drive across country in! But I guess it could still be cool.

Be careful driving at night. There are no signs, but the pavement ends. There are some abandoned cars along the way... and a bunch of campers grouped together on the left on your way in.
I found it difficult to find sites, and what I did find, the ground was soft / wet. I am glad I got out OK. I just parked by the sign / entrance and slept great.

It’s literally Fernley’s sewage evaporation and mosquito breeding pond.
It’s a long dirt road that can be very rough.
Best to stay the night near the freeway.
Don’t be fooled by the blue on the map. Once you get to that area it’s a one lane levy road and you’re committed.
Had to use 4WD to turn around.
You can’t miss the tweaker camp just after the right turn.
