“Home of the Mediocre Music Makers”
Despite its name, nothing inside of the small brick building located just off old Route 66 in Erick, Oklahoma is actually for sale. Owner Harley Russell encourages guests to take all the photos they want and stay for an impromptu jam session.

If I could give this place no stars I would. My mother and I entered and a redneck who owned the place immediately racially harassed her and sexually harassed me. Good riddance
I have to agree with Leila about the rating. I came here while on a cross-country trip. Harley had seen me walking around the town taking photos of the building, and evidently that offended him. He made some sarcastic remarks to me and when he found out where i was from (California) made additional mean remarks. He used rude language, too. I was quite shaken after the experience. I would have liked to say how much I admired all the things in the shop and outside of it, but was not given the chance.
I wouldn’t recommend. Especially if you are a woman. I don’t mind someone being redneck, but that doesn’t give them the excuse to just sexually harass every female that walks in. Very strange experience and not what I was expecting. Save your time and pass this stop. Such a bummer because the building with all of the old Route 66 stuff is awesome. But the owner ruins the entire experience.
Harvy is open to receive visitors again. My friends and I were there this morning (May 28th, 2015) and it was an amazing experience, a must stop if you are in the vicinity.
This was a great quick stop! The “shop” has tons of cool stuff to look, the owner repeatedly encourages that we take pictures. I was by myself so he kindly offered to take pictures for me. He was chatty and welcoming. Yes he is a “interesting dude” and he makes some remarks that some may get offended by but honestly, he is in this since 1986, in the middle of “nowhere”, his wife that he speaks about in every sentence has passed… at this point, I don’t think he cares if he offends someone 🤷🏻♀️🙈 I would 100% stop there again!
After seeing the reviews on here, I was skeptical about making this stop. But my love of history, signs, and experience lead me to go here. If you can’t appreciate an authentic person, vulgar language and inappropriate jokes and all, then I would say keep it moving. Harley made the experience what it was for us - unforgettable. A lot of y’all need to let go of stereotypes and also need to let go of the premonition that people are going to adapt to you. Harley was nothing but an authentic country man who shared his love for his art studio and the insanity to come with it. I would definitely go back if I get the chance!!
Cool shop and great place to stop. Once you exit the freeway, it's a short drive through town - can be there in just a few minutes from I-40.
he is a good guy lots of fun, don't be put off by bad reviews if you don't stop here you are missing out. its a free stop and he has a good collection. leave a donation help keep these gems open.
I will never forget this place!! Made our trip ❤️wasn't what we expected but the experience was even better than what I had in mind. The fella is ornery but we loved it 😂
It was fun stopping by on an evening of last June, Harley was just about to close but when he saw 3 beautiful French women he re-opened the door hahaha! and he really MADE THE SHOW during at least 15 minutes! we had a wonderful time and made a video which I would like to send to him... Best wishes for him and his "housekeeper" as he said...
