Confirmed by 9 users | Last reported on April 26, 2024This BLM land is set up with gravel campsites, most of which have covered picnic tables on concrete pads as well as fire rings. There are several that will accommodate big rigs. They are very well-kept, and the campground has several trash cans and a pit toilet.
There is an upper level with an equestrian camping area that has beautiful views. There was one trailer there and none on the lower level, so we stayed on the lower level. The campground is just off Hwy50, and gets just a little highway noise, however, there is not much traffic on Hwy 50 (the Loneliest Road in America).
The location is a few minutes from the little town of Baker and about fifteen minutes from the Great Basin National Park. It is also 48 miles from the slightly larger town of Ely.
There are hiking and mountain biking trails right from the campground, great for doggies, but there is a cattle grate on the way up the hill so we had to carry our dog across. But the hiking area is extensive with some beautiful views.
The reason I gave it four stars is that there was no Verizon signal.

Excellent boondocking experience. Excellent location on Rt. 50 about 30 minutes to Great Basin National Park. They had a nice fishing hole that was well used while we were there. The sites had a covered picnic table, fire ring and bar-b-q grill. All were well maintained. They also had pit toilets if you are trying to preserve your tanks. If you are looking for more seclusion there was a equestrian camp about a mile farther back. It was empty when we were there.
All in all a great experience. As noted before Verizon signal was weak but I was able to get 2 bars of 3G with the booster. Good enough for phone calls.

We don't like to pay for camping if we can help it. We stay at a lot of harvest host but also use @campendium for free camping spots. This beautiful spot I found on campendium Instagram, which I love use their location part of the Instagram. This spot was on the boarder of Utah and Colorado and is called Sacramento Recreation Area. Completely free! No hook ups but there are restrooms available.
We pulled in just before dusk and found only two other people camping there. We met a lovely French Canadian couple and Hank was super excited to meet there furry lil friend. We hung out for a bit with our new travel friends then made dinner and got a great nights sleep in this peaceful and beautiful spot.

There are more spaces back in the equestrian area but lots of dust going back there. A little hard to level but just takes a little time. Nice Place. 44 miles from the new Loves station (under construction) in Ely Nv.
Was able to use Verizon Jet Pack but only forced to 3G.
Stars all over the place at night.

This is one of the best places we've stayed. No services, including cell, but there are clean pit toilets, paved patios with covered picnic tables, grills, and fire pits at each site. We camped up top in the equestrian area and could see Wheeler Peak (Great Basin NP) from our site. This is dark sky country and the Milky Way put on a show for us. There are about ten official spots to camp here. It wasn't crowded mid-May. Super convenient to Great Basin, and simply lovely.

Gorgeous, clean campground with covered concrete patios, great views and excellent hiking. Lots of sun for solar. Barely any cell reception. I came on a Saturday and the lower area was full except one spot. Most of the campers were very quiet.. but one more eccentric gentleman in an older trailer was blasting terrible 80's music so loud you could hear it clear to the other side of the campground. I'm not sure if this man had a hearing problem or if he thought he was doing the campground a favor by providing music... But it was awful. I decided I would be better served just moving up the somewhat steep dirt road to the equestrian camp. What a great move that turned out to be! The upper camp was also full, but with quiet, backpacker type tent campers. There was one giant pull through in the center that was open and i took it. Fantastic place to camp. BLM is doing an incredible job keeping the place clean and maintained and it makes for a great experience. I enjoyed hiking the various trails and using the spot as a base camp to explore Great Basin. Will definitely return to this place next time I'm near the area!

Great BLM with paved patios, fire rings, BBQ gril. Very large sites. Better than most of the "official" campgrounds. You will barely hear vehicles on the US-50 since most of the traffic stops at night. No wonder, this road is called the loneliest road in America. If you don't want to hear it at all, just go in the upper section of the park.
The trash cans were a more than full when we were there and the dry restrooms could also be maintened a little more.,

I left the Lehman Caves looking for a spot, Cleve Creek - Google Maps had wrong location, discovered this after going down the dirt road following google (Reported and since corrected). Anyway great spot, Solar/Dish, minimal Internet, Vrzn.. Nice view of the pond, and upper road, apx 1/2 mile? about 4-5 sites. Whole area appears to cater to the horse's Crowd, but none there when I was there. Right off 50, 50ft or so, but minimal noise.
Nice place even for a "One night Stand"..
fun..
