Has a great little stream you can listen to or fish for brook trout or crawfish in. Camp sites are more for tents at this camp ground. Sites have tables, fire pit and there are rest rooms available to use.

While this was our first time here, everything from the vault toilets to the campsites themselves looked brand new and freshly constructed. We came on a Tuesday for first-come-first serve after Memorial Day weekend and most sites were full. By the the time we left on Saturday, the campground was mostly empty. The campground apparently wasn’t supposed to be online for reservation yet as it had just opened the week before we arrived, according to the ranger. Anyway, the sites were well-graded and graveled, with new fire rings, picnic tables, bbqs and platforms for your campstove. We have a 19’ tent trailer and saw other sites with really big rigs.

Arrived on a Friday night. It was just us and one other in the whole campground. We had a beautiful site, #5, the had beautiful creek water gushing past. We were surprised with how nice the sites were and how quiet the campground is. I will be returning for sure!
It’s about 30 minutes drive north of Ely and marked clearly. There was only 3 miles of dirt road which was well maintained. The sites were quite clean and had lots of trees to maintain privacy from other sites. I will say sites 1-3 did not have the creek at the site, but 4-9 do have water and most have a bridge across from the site to the picnic tables and fire pits.

The campground is one of 7 in the Humboldt mountains north of Ely and has received a major makeover in 2020. The results are incredible, clean, nicely distanced from one another and scenic views are just a few. Camp sites 8 and 9 have bridges spanning Bird Creek leading to the secluded fire pit, BBQ, picnic table ares.
This campground was originally day use only and converted to a mix of 14 day max. camping and improved day use sites in 2020.
The camping fee is $10 per night. We used the old folks pass for half off. What a gem this is and thankful to have shared it new found friends.

We were able to stay in site 5 with no reservation since it’s off season. This is a spectacular site, huge pull-thru with your own waterfall and multiple bridges to tables and horseshoe pit. The water was so loud it was amazing. Thankfully it drowned out the one other campsite taken that was producing constant noise.
Absolutely no cell phone connection at all with AT &T. Not even SOS.
Beautiful area, we hiked up a lovely road at the end of the campground for amazing views of cliffs and the creek.
Definitely need reservations in season for nicer sites.
For RVs, not much shade in most sites.
