Big Lake Wilderness Lodge is a remote wilderness resort located 23 miles north of Ely, MN on the scenic Echo Trail, which winds from Ely, MN to Crane Lake. Surrounded by the Superior National Forest with its abundant wildlife, numerous hiking trails and proximity to the famed Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, we're the most remote drive-in resort in northern Minnesota. With 1,800 acres of water, 14 islands, and numerous inlets and bays, Big Lake is a place of rugged beauty. This northern MN lake is one of the DNR's top-rated walleye lakes and also holds northern pike, smallmouth bass, and perch. No motor-size restrictions. Public boat ramp access nearby.
