We came to Forest Ridge with our group from Travels w/ Delaney! Jeff and Lynn were so generous and showed our group such excellent hospitality. We had an excellent site that backed up to a wooded area and was very level. The laundry room was super clean and the WIFI in this campground is top notch. When we were there in early June the Mosquitos were intense, so make sure you take your but spray. The campground was extremely quiet, and very dark at night. It had an above ground pool that had not been opened yet so early in the season. It was about a 45 minute drive to Acadia Nat'l Park. Some great places to eat were Helen's and Momo's Cheesecake which Jeff helped us find. Would definitely stay here again!

With a storm threatening and no reservations, we drove to this CG to see if they could take us last minute. Office closed, so we called and heard a message that someone would get back with us. We could see a large loop of treeless, gravel, smaller overnight-type sites, all empty, and waited there just a short time for a response. Someone soon showed up in a golf cart, and discouraged us in every way possible. It was a "holiday weekend" (it was Wed night before Labor Day and numerous vacancies). They don't "do" same-day reservations (why tell us to leave a message if arriving after hours?) We pled our case in terms of the threatening weather ("it never rains here, ever"). It would be "expensive" but couldn't say exactly how much without checking office computer which we practically had to beg them to do (it was $87.50). So their pricey spot sat empty and we went on down the road. Kind of incomprehensible.

What a dump. Literally. See pics for some detail.
Everybody posts their beautiful pictures from their stays, but I thought it would be more informative for this one to show you the ugly.
Gravel sites need re-building. We got better water pressure from our little on-board water pump than the CG water faucet. No exaggeration. They knew about it but obviously didn't care.
Expensive ($90/night), and that was with no sewer at our site! No camp store. Almost no amenities. Pool is above-ground with rickety wooden ramp to access it.
Equipment and supplies left everywhere, next to your campsite. Then, as we left 2 days early, we stopped to use the dump station just to see the remnants of a torn-down building opposite the dump station. Great place for kids to play and get hurt.
So, we paid $90/night for electricity.

Nice wide spaces mostly level. Water Electric Sewer. Convenient to Acadia. Only two hours to Lubec. Bangor is about 40 minutes. Quiet. The owners Jeff and Lynn are very helpful and just plain kind. Kim the office staff is a helpful tour guide giving us mani dead for exploring during our 30 days. Bingo on Wednesday nights and ice cream social on the first day of summer. Sites are mostly gravel. Some shade. Campground is adding ten new sites. The grounds are well kept.

Had the pleasure of spending the month of July 2021 here. A very nice, clean, and quiet campground. The campground owners and staff have thought of everything here. Nice level, well groomed RV sites with gravel surfaces and roads. This is a quiet campground, don’t even think about partying or playing loud music here, as it is not the place for it. They offer excellent cable TV (for an upcharge) and WIFI (for free). The WIFI is exceptionally fast throughout the park as there are several access points and networks, they will tell you which network to connect to when you check in. The laundry is $2 per wash and dry. They have three washers and three dryers, which are all in excellent condition. The location of this campground is excellent. You can reach Bar Harbor and Acadia NP in about 30 minutes. You can also reach downtown Bangor in 30 minutes. Historic Downtown Ellsworth is about a mile or so down the road and offers a few nice restaurants and shops, Airline Brewing is nice, but small so you might have trouble getting a seat at popular eating times. Ellsworth also has major grocery stores, pharmacies and even a Walmart and Home Depot. They also have some cool only in Maine stores such as Mardens (great fabric selection) and Renys (great outdoor gear). Forest Ridge is a great choice for your Acadia and Downeast Maine explorations! I highly recommend it!
