Just needed a place to stay the night during our trip to Nevada. The signs at the normal parking lot said no overnight camping so we asked 3 people inside and they said it’s okay in the back at the garden center. There were already a few trucks and one or two RVs. Not too crowded, Walmart trucks started passing by pretty early in the morning. Plus the shop is not open 24/7 but the restrooms were pretty clean
This lot is posted no overnight parking and no big rig or RV overnight parking. Elko PD was actively ticketing and towing while we were there.
There are signs posted all over the parking lot that there is no RV overnight parking allowed. I went in and asked at the service desk and they told me to go ahead and park by the garden center doors. I did so and there were no problems. Relatively quiet at night and served its purpose as a quick overnight stop. I'd stay here again, but definitely ask at the desk.
Checked with store who very nicely said sure, just park along rail furthest from store. Alot of night time activity. Cleaning the parking lot, rolling garbage can around, traffic, parking lot music and at one point it sounded like a Zamboni was out there! Can't beat the price or the view. Thank you Walmart!
Just call for permission and confirm location to park. It’s a decent FREE overnight stay. Not all areas of the parking lot are level but plenty of space to choose.
I arrived late after driving all day and was very tired. I've never Wally docked and didn't sleep deep because of it. The outside noise was not a big issue, considering it's a parking lot. One night max stay, park along the railing and I chose to double check if it was allowed by calling in to the store operator.
We all or at least some of us know deal sometimes we stay at Walmart.A bit of traffic noise until later but that’s urban camping.I feel lucky and thankful that Walmart allows us to stay so I am always low key and make some purchases.Fact is they have decent prices and products.
On my first night I asked the person in customer service if it was ok to park in the parking lot over night.I was told no problem just park out against the outer RAILS and she was very right. If you park on or near the automotive or garden entry that includes the area where there is grass directly north you won’t like it.There Will be trucks running and employees working ALL night….Against the rails means against the rails! Don’t litter and have a great night.
