“stay in our beautiful, serene environment surrounded by water”
Only an hour from North Carolina’s celebrated Outer Banks, The Pond House Inn is conveniently located on the banks of the Pasquotank River in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Come by boat or by car to enjoy a relaxing stay in a beautiful, serene environment surrounded by water. Expect a lovely room and warm southern hospitality. Picnic on our private islands. Enjoy swimming or fishing off our private dock. Take a romantic canoe ride. It’s all here at The Pond House Inn. Built in the summer of 1941, the Inn enjoys a spectacular setting on a slight rise, surrounded by the waters of the Pasquotank River and Waters Pond, named for Samuel Waters, an original owner of the land. The house is a finely crafted example of European Manor House architecture, with a winding staircase opening into wide halls and large, elegant rooms.
Beware! Super rude! My son had a wedding there 9/17/16. She appeared friendly when we chose the venue, but when it came time for the venue, she absolutely fell apart. Wouldn't answer questions about how to reset a breakers (that kept blowing), turned vendors away when they were setting up the day before the wedding (including the tent setup!). House was filthy (inside and out). Would not remove a 30 foot ladder leaned up on the side of the house where wedding photos were to be taken. Shrubs were severely overgrown. We even sent someone out to trim them at our cost - and they were turned away. Sent someone the day before the venue to mosquito spray the swamp - and they were turned away. The day of the venue, she was almost a total no-show for any problems, questions, etc. The few minutes she did show up, she was rude to the bride, the groom and the families of the bride and groom - slamming doors, yelling, etc. We were all afraid to confront her for fear that she would ruin the wedding. The day of the rehearsal, we heard a dog screaming and looked over only to find her dragging her small poodle around by the neck choking the dog. Unbelievably cruel! Beautiful setting, but strange, strange woman! Beware! Stay away!
