“check out a piece of Edisto Island's history as you dine”
The Old Post Office restaurant on Edisto is back in business and charged with new energy. The property was purchased by Adam and Toniann Morris. The Morrises held down their day jobs and worked on renovating the restaurant in their “spare” time. They put their stamp of approval on their handiwork and opened to the public in April, 2009. A cream-colored facade presents a shiny, new face for the Old Post Office Restaurant. A side garden complete with a tiered fountain welcomes you into the screened entry. A collection of antique stamp machines decorate the space, the original mail boxes were left in place, and a variety of postal stamp motifs are used for their menu and collateral pieces. They named the water closets the “mail room” and “femail room” and have transformed their sweat equity into a cheerful, pleasant dining room
